Absolutely LOVED this series!! 5 well earned stars!
It's rare to find an author that you can ride along a series with and not get bored with it. This was such an author, and such a series. The only book in it that I wasn't crazy about was Kane's story but I still thought the writing was fabulous and the book immensely entertaining. In a sea of the same old story, just written worse, this series was SO REFRESHING. I can't praise the author enough for originality and technique. The time and attention each book got is clear to see in the world the author created. The reiteration of information like the chromosomes grated just a little (truly, just a LITTLE), but I know the author and/or publisher likely required it so the books could stand alone. But as a reader that went from book 1 to the end, I found that just a baby bit annoying. That said, it wasn't something that made me want to stop reading. No, no. Not at all. I adored the world too much to stop reading. This series cost me precious sleep actually...and it was so worth it. Oh, and let me say that the amount of research that Ms Zanetti likely did to make the science aspect of these works believable, is absolutely fabulous. It shines through when an author has done their homework and this author definitely did. Even in PNR/ Fantasy romance...it's something that's so important. It creates a believable storyline in otherwise made up worlds and the work is richer for it. Wonderfully intelligent writing, all through the series. Now for the heat factor which is a must for me. This series had my kindle steaming and I was so glad that most of it was on KU. (All of it? I can't remember. I finished this series a few weeks ago.) I remember all the books, but not it they were all on KU or not. Anyway, KU or paid for, every single novel and novella is worth reading/ buying. I would suggest to readers to read them in order, and for the author to add that order to each book blurb as I read one novella out of order on accident. It wasn't easy to figure out which one was next and while these can be read stand alone, I would strongly suggest you don't read at least the main novels out of order as the world moves forward, even if each book contains its own story and concludes for the main h/h that it's about. And don't skip the novellas, they're awesome and really must be read before the final book, Marked. I was so very sad to see the end of this world coming, but I know that I'll be sinking my teeth into more of her work so I'm okay. :))Richly detailed, humorous, dark, erotic romance and characters that you really don't want to say goodbye to. Thank you Rebecca, for an amazing journey with your art. I have a ton of readers already sent to you that adore it or are adoring it currently, just as much as I did. These books are going into my top reads of 2015 at this point. Well, well done.~Jen Sage-PNR Author xoxo

Words can't express how much I Freakin loved this book
Words can't express how much I Freakin loved this book!!!!!! I give it 5 How do I say Goodbye to a series I have grown to love stars.......... OMG Janie and Zane's Story is Finally here! This book was the Best book I have ever read. It was pure perfection!!! I fell in love with Talen in book one and it's been a beautiful love affair ever since and this book is the perfect ending to one of the best series I have ever read! This book picks up right at the peace talks. Janie is 25 and she knows its time to fulfill her destiny whatever that is. Zane is a warrior trying to protect his best friend and more since childhood Janie belle. War is everywhere and All Hell is about to break loose....Zane is such a complex character he just has so many layers....Loyal, Strong, brave, sweet, dominant, fighter, and protector. All alpha male and soldier he makes one hell of a sexy kick butt hero! I fell in love with little Janie belle Kayrs in book one when she was just 4 years old and through the series I have gotten to watch as she has grown into a beautiful and brave woman. In Marked you get to really see the little human that has had the pressure of the world on her shoulders since her birth. Sassy, strong, loyal, brave, kick butt , funny, but super smart. Janie is the perfect heroine! Zane and Janie together are steamy and so romantic. There are explosive plot twist and tons of action. This book shocked the heck outta me so many times. Tons of things in this book I didn't see coming. It had me on the edge. My emotions were all over the place one minute I was laughing, the next I was yelling OMG!!! Then the next I was crying Yes for real Crying Twice!! At the end Rebecca Zanetti wrapped up the series beautifully answering all the questions I had about the series and giving us a glimpse into the future of our favorite couples. Could not ask for more unless I could ask her not to end the series lol, but I am totally serious! If you have not read this series for real your missing out. If you have read this series and love it as much as I do you and you have not read Rebecca Zanetti's Sin Brother series you should check it out it's just as good!

Zane's story
Brilliant absolutely brilliant, although it had me in tears when all the Kayrs men along with Zane were dying. Janie have birth and saved them all. I would totally recommend it to . Already downloaded the next one to read

Sexy, thrilling, and unbelievably awesome
Unbelievably sexy. Zane is a primal sexual creature that is willing to risk everything for his mate. Janie a human with vision ready to take on the world for her family, so willing to put herself in harms way to make sure her family and other survive. Truly thrilling and sexy story. I am definitely going to be reading it again. If you’ve read fated, her parents story, you know how dominant her father is. Well Zane is on equal footing and it’s awesome as hell to read.

Fantastic end to an fantastic series
I really hate this situation, when you can't stop reading, because the story is soooo good, but if you'd finished the book - well, then it's over.Through all the other books of the dark protectors series we've watched Janie and Zane grow up. And now finally, they meet in person. When Janie finally found out what Zane is, it was like "OMG". And from that moment on, I just couldn't stop reading. The way Zane tries to protect those he loves, makes you love him even more. And of course there's the final showdown: the unsuccessful peace-negotiation, the faster virus (that now attacks it's actual aim), the war between vampires / witches / shifters vs demons vs Kurjans...The book was just the perfect type of action / romance novel!!!!Although I loved all the couples, this story is definately my most favourite book!!!And on one hand, it's so sad, that the story's over, on the other - it was just great. Too many books probably mean repetition. But the epilogue hinted at another book.. so maybe a new series?!?!

I'll miss this series but what a great book this was.
Rating~ 4.75 starsJanet Isabelle Kryrs, called Janie Belle by her loved ones is the chosen one. Her birth and her changing the world was prophesied by oracles/prophets from all species of the realm. We met Janie when she was 4 years old in the first book in the series, a child who knew things (she’s psychic) and had the ability to walk into dream land. Which is where she met Zane. In the last couple of books we saw her become a young woman who had so many responsibilities on her thin shoulders yet she was a smart-ass and had smile for everybody. Janie has spent all her life believing that she is going to change the world and ultimately keep everyone she loves safe.Zane Kylwood is a half vampire and half something you will have to read to find out. Also known as the Ghost. He really isn’t the quiet, sweet boy that Janie was best friends with for years in their dream world before he went to live with his mother’s people. Zane is a solider, he has spent the last decade of his life in battle. He’s also an assassin, committed a lot dangerous acts and took alot of beatings to keep his family safe from his uncle. Zane from a young age has believed that Janie will be his and he will keep everyone he holds dear safe, He also hates that Janie’s willing to do anything to stop further bloodshed in the war. Both Janie and Zane love their family, they are willing to sacrifice themselves if it means that they get to live. Janie has always believed in fate especially since fate was what resulted in her getting a family. Zane doesn’t, he wants his Janie to have choices for her future, ones that don’t involve her mating with Kalin.Zane and Janie’s relationship was at times sweet and tender other times passionate and intense. I really liked them together, how they were both with only each other was very different to how they act around others. Janie has always showed a strong and bright front for her family, she is also slightly spoiled since her members love her and wouldn’t do anything to make her upset. She usually gets her way but not with Zane. Zane sees right through her act, of not only her manipulating people into doing what she wants but to the young vulnerable woman shes underneath. They are both stubborn and believe that they are right in all things which made their banter very interesting. There were a few surprises about the Kayrs brothers and their behavior which made ultimately a lot of sense. The book had some twists and turns which I didn’t see coming. I sniffled and cried a few times when it seemed there would be no happy ending for anyone in the realm let alone Janie’s. They were also a lot of plotting, planning going around in the book to get the upper hand in the battle from both sides of the line and quite a few battle/fighting scenes. We also had a quite a few scenes of the Kayrs brothers and their mates. It was lovely seeing them again.Kalin was as expected a big part of the book, I always thought he would end up dead not because he’s a crazy, serial killer psychopath (he is that) but because of his obsession with Janie. And I liked how the prophesy his people foresaw would come to pass eventually from the way the book ended, it was just not the way he thought it would have. Sneaky Rebeecca Zanetti!Quibbles: I loved Zane and Janie together and I would have liked a bit more of them together, their relationship and how they developed and I missed my shifters, I wanted a bit more of them as well.Overall, a great and a happy ending to a wonderful series. Bravo Ms. Zanetti!I cannot wait for the spin-off of the series and I really want to know what happened with Nick and his witch. Happy Reading!
