Does this product have an expiration date, and if so, how long does it last in storage?

Micropur does have an expiration date. Its shelf life is 5 years after it was manufactured. Each package has an expiration date printed on it in two places: 1) on the bottom flap of the original box. If your Micropur is packaged with a cardboard backer and a plastic bubble on the front, the expiration date is on the bottom flap of the cardboard insert in the plastic bubble. 2) The expiration date is also printed on the individual foil packs that contain the micropur tablets. The expiration date is imprinted onto one of the outside seams of the foil. This date can be a little hard to see so I usually need my flashlight to help me find it.

Looking to use as a backup to drop into my water bladder if my line filter malfunctions. Good option?

Not sure I'd use them in a bladder. My intent was to use them as a back up also. Using them in 1 liter bottles, after removing as much color and floatables as possible through my t-shirt or bandana. Or using them in water that may have viral contamination after filtering with my Sawyer Hope this helps, not sure there is a clear cut answer.
