Fantastic conclusion to this amazing graphic novel series!
Series Info/Source: This is the 10th (and final) volume in the East of West graphic novel series. I bought this book.Story (5/5): Xiaolian and Chamberlain face off and much is lost on both sides. Meanwhile the three horsemen face off with Death. This was my favorite book of the series and really wrapped up things nicely. This is just a very nice and complete ending and was much more “feel good” and cohesive than I expected.Characters (5/5): I continue to enjoy a lot of these characters but Death, Xiaolian and Babylon remain my favorites. I loved that some characters got exactly what they deserved and others got the forgiveness they deserved. I adored how things ended up with Babylon. It's actually a bit hard to talk about the characters without spoilers, but they remain in keeping with the rest of the series.Setting (5/5): I continue to really enjoy this detailed alternate history United States, the world building in this whole series was amazing.Writing/Drawing Style (5/5): One of my main complaints with this series is all the jumping around that happens and how fractured the story feels at times, that was not the case in this volume. This was easy to follow and did an amazing job wrapping up the storylines in a way that felt hopeful and complete. The illustration throughout the whole series was fantastic and I loved it!My Summary (5/5): Overall I enjoyed this series as a whole but especially loved this final volume. This is an amazing world with amazing characters. I absolutely loved how everything was tied up here and where the series leaves both the world and the characters. I would recommend this whole graphic novel series if you enjoy alternate history types of epic fantasy with beautiful (yet gory) illustration.

More a review of the whole series
I am sad to see this end, but I am happy that it resolved the way it did. This is Jonathan Hickman’s masterpiece. I don’t use it lightly, but this really the culmination of his plays with format, his love of world-building made through inference, his play of psychedelia and dream logic, his bizarre sense of humor, and his love of characters giving speeches every few pages. This is the pinnacle of all that he can accomplish and I am sad to see it go.

An excellent story
An amazing series. So much so I even paid for a good chunk to read to the end! Thank you, Mr Hickman, for an excellent story.

Underwhelming finish to an epic story
For the overall series.... It had some high moments. Some parts were great. Loved the art throughout. But the story just had so many moving parts, it was easy to get a bit lost, or more so, to want there to be more focus on one area instead of it being spread so much. Initially I thought Death was the protagonist, and he probably is, but with so many characters and their own motivations, he does get lost as a protagonist. Because everyone is in some way the protagonist of their own piece of the story. Not a bad read by any stretch. I highly recommend it. It’s a masterclass in a chess-like movement of players in a story. But it’s not in my top 10.

Great epic story, unlike any other.
Dark. Funny. Weird. The author never let you down, or take shortcut in the story telling.
