TIMMKOO 72GB MP3 Player with Bluetooth, 4.0" Full Touchscreen Mp4 Player with Speaker, Portable HiFi Sound Mp3 Player with Bluetooth, Voice Recorder, Can't Download Apps (Black)

Owned the first iteration of Timmkoo MP3 players and was very impressed. Very simple user interface, excellent quality, easy to see controls. Eventually, I manage to drop it and kill it, so I ordered the Q3. Similar interface to the original model, but other than the Home screen, text is smaller and white on black background, thus a little harder to see. It does have a graphic equalizer, which is pretty good. I like to just copy music from the PC to a folder on an MP3 player and be able to locate the folder easily and play the content. The Q3 is a bit more involved than the original Timmkoo. Copying music is fairly simple: connect to a PC vis USB cable included. Open the device on the PC and navigate to the Music folder and copy music from the PC to that folder. Note that when disconnecting this model from the PC does NOT require 'Ejecting' it, which is an improvement over the original player. Playback is a little more involved. Select the Music folder on the upper left corner of the home screen. That momentarily displays a black 'splash' screen with the word 'Hiky' in bright yellow text. The next screen has icons on a black screen with small gray or white text. Locate the white musical note center top and click 'Internal Storage' just below it, in gray font. Locate the Music folder and click it. All music folders copied to the player will be displayed. Select one and click the first song listed to begin playing the content. A nice feature is from this open music folder, you can simply swipe 'left to right' to return to display the folders in the Music folder to select another to play. All in all, excellent build quality - has a solid, hefty feel. Very good battery playback time between charges. Very impressed with this product. Paired with Soundcore A2NC ear buds makes for a simply awesome MP3 experience!

I got this for my dad because he is afraid of new things. This MP3 player is VERY similar to his Gen 1 iPod Touch that has been slowly dying, so I went ahead and got it for him. I am beyond impressed with this. Will be getting a second one for my father-in-law for Christmas, too. Pros: Accessories - Seriously has every accessory you need. A decent case, screen protector, OTG cable, USB-C charging and transfer cable, and an actually decent sounding earbuds with a cloth-wrapped cord. MicroSD - Tossed in a 32GB microSD for my dad to transfer all his old files to. He was really pleased he can fit all his songs instead of having to pick and choose like he did with his iPod. Sound Quality - Sounds excellent. Even his old 128kbps files sound better than they did on his iPod. FM Radio - Picked up 23 local stations when we first loaded the app. Great! External Speaker - I mean..It's not loud, but it is a cool feature you don't see a lot of these days. Bluetooth - Connected to both his cars, several different BT speakers, and to every BT headphone and earbud we threw at them. No connectivity issues. Signal was strong up to about 20 feet away. Cons: Screen - Resolution is A-OK for a device like this, but the touch control is iffy. Video playback is fine, but there aren't a lot of supported formats. Don't expect HD video on a non-HD screen. There were a lot of missed presses, and that can get annoying. Plastic - The back of the device is not the highest quality. Would have been nice to spend ten bucks more for a metal back. Luckily this comes with a nice case. Battery - Doesn't last as long as other MP3 players in this price range, but that is largely going to be impacted by the amount of time the screen is active. Once you've figured out how to work it, you can set the screen to shut-off sooner. With a lot of screen-on time, we got about six hours. With just music, and only turning the screen on every once in a while we got ten hours +. Overall, I am extremely impressed. I keep an old phone around where I've disabled everything except a music app, and this beats that to smithereens. The Bluetooth is much better than other devices, even my old phone. It connects and stays connected without any static or buzz. That's HUGE.

This product arrived on time and the packaging was undamaged. Upon opening this MP3 player my wife and I were, at first, very impressed. It had a nice weight and overall clean feel. We charged it and then started to explore it's features (the ones that worked). Overall, the MP3 player works flawlessly as long as your audio files and tracks are properly numbered and categorized. If you are buying it solely for an MP3 player with good battery life this is not a bad product even though the touchscreen can get a bit slow and imprecise. The product also came with an adhesive sheet screen protector in which you can apply and a slightly transparent casing (which we both utilized and didn't utilize throughout our future tests, just in case that was a factor). The device also comes with a few patch cords for charging and data transfer, but very little in terms of instructions. However, this product is really straight forward and the lack of directions should not be an issue as long as you are only using it as an MP3 player and have mild knowledge of audio transfers. Just in case this helps, while attempting audio transfers, please pay attention to the device's screen once you plug it into your computer with the provided cables. The touchscreen gives you the option to either transfer files or simply charge it. Once we selected transfer files an icon immediately appeared on our desktop to drag data into. Again, organization of files, folders, and tracks is key. In addition, if you do not have an external memory card installed/added, the icon will only be for the device's internal memory/storage. If you do add an additional memory external micro SD card (we added a 128GB micro SD card), it will also show up. With that in mind, since both icons will show up each time to plug it in, we recommend you label each to avoid confusion later. As a stand alone MP3 player with a few other simply functions (clock, calendar, rerecorder, calculator, eDictionary, etc), it is nice, but a bit pricy compared to other MP3 players on the market; that is why we specifically ordered the model with bluetooth...but that is where this product fails. As mentioned, we did not buy this product for the ability to play MP3s alone via speakers or headphones, we specifically bought the bluetooth model for both Bluetooth and the FM Radio function. Both are marketed features on the specific device we ordered, and both are clearly labeled on the touchscreen; however, but DO NOT WORK at all. The Bluetooth, once switched on, merely shows a searching circular icon that needs to be refreshed over and over in the attempt to read any device (which it will not). At first we thought we were too far away from our other bluetooth products so we tested multiple distances before finally placing this product directly on the desired bluetooth products. It just would not recognize nor detect them. That said, the other bluetooth compatible products (12 total) work flawlessly with other devices, but not this product. Our primary use for this MP3 player was to connect to our vehicle's audio system so we could play songs, audiobooks, etc during our long commutes. We have a cheaper MP3 player that has done this for 6 years without fail and we wanted a new once with a touch screen function to replace it. Sadly, this item will not be replacing our old one. It will not recognize any of our vehicles, any of our bluetooth headphones, nor any other device we own. Again, we specifically purchased the model that had bluetooth, sadly, this merely has the icons while lacking any functionality. In terms of the FM Radio, it simply DOES NOT WORK... and it apparently will only allegedly work with headphones. You can not even access the FM Radio icon unless the headphones are plugged in, which is a very odd function unless the headphones act as an antenna. Once you connect the headphones, you can open the icon on the main screen, you can even search for radio stations, but all you will get is a continuous loud squeal and static sound. The sound never varies no matter what channel you select and this is a very annoying issue that is fed directly into your ear since you apparently must utilize the provided headphones at all times in order for it to allegedly work. The product has speakers that works well for the MP3s, but not the radio. Sadly, this is the only MP3 player we have that requires headphones in order to even access the radio icon. Unfortunately, even with the headphones, the radio just DOES NOT WORK. My wife and I recently (yesterday) traveled between 2 states which accounted for approximately 310 miles of driving. During this time my poor wife continuously attempted to get any radio station. We traveled through open fields, towns, 3 cities, and many other locations while not being able to achieve a signal station. It merely squealed the entire time which was disappointing. Please know, we also tried this radio function in our house and even outside, just in case the walls were a factor (which isn't a factor for our other devices), but it did not work. Conclusion: If you only want a MP3 player with the potential to add 128GB external micro storage to play MP3s via speaker or headphones, this is not a bad product. The touchscreen can be a bit hesitant with a slightly misaligned touchscreen calibration, but overall it works as a playable brick. The speakers and external memory compatibility are truly the best features of this product; however, if you are like us and wish to utilize Bluetooth and/or the FM Radio function, this isn't the product for you. Perhaps our model is merely defective, but we find it strange that both functions do not work. Rating: 1-Star We are giving this product 1 star since the specific function we bought it for, Bluetooth, doesn't work. We bought it for a specific function based on this specific model's claim(s), and it simply DID NOT WORK. In addition, if the FM Radio at least worked, we would have given it to our parents so they could enjoy it, but that DOES NOT WORK either. As such, it only gets 1 star via its failure to achieve our specific need, a need it was advertised to do. If you only need it for playing audio files via speakers or headphones, I am sure your rating would be much higher; but for us, this product fails to do what it advertised and what it was purchased for. As such, we are back to using our old MP3 player until we find a better model. I hope this review helps.

=== Review Update Jun 30 2020 = = = = I am happy to report that the excellent customer service from this vendor resolved some of the issues I had with the first sample I received. I was sent a replacement unit that did not have any of the touch screen issues noted in my earlier review. It also worked OK in regard to connecting and reconnecting with most Bluetooth devices I tested (details provided below). The player doesn't automatically reconnect, but it will reconnect using a previous "pair" by simply selecting the connection in the BT menu. The replacement player still has a few software glitches that are reportedly being corrected with a pending firmware update. I will update my review after testing the new firmware. I tested several BT receiver devices and had success with all of them except for a TaoTronics TT-BR05 that is described as having BT version 4.2 The player will connect and transmit music but has very brief audio dropouts every few minutes. I did not have any other BT 4.2 devices to test, so I can't determine if the problem was unique to the connection between the Timmkoo player the TaoTronics TT-BR05 receiver. However, that same receiver worked fine with several other players that I tested. I was unable to pair the Timmkoo player with a Pioneer DEH-6400BT car stereo (installed on a boat). However, the supplier explained that the Timmkoo was not designed to pair with car stereos. So far I have had success using the Timmkoo player with these devices: TaoTronics TT-BA07 receiver (BT 5.0) Amazon Echo Tap (BT unknown) Wicked Raider Earbuds (BT 4.1) Bose QC35ii Earphones (BT 4.0) I can report that I am satisfied with the Timmkoo player and with the customer service I received. I can recommend the device as a low cost MP3 player that will likely pair with any late-model BT receiver. I will update this review when the new firmware is provided. === Original Review from May 2020 = = = The small size and seemingly solid construction are positive aspects. But the unreliable Bluetooth performance and flaky software render this device just short of unusable. I loaded the internal memory and a 32Gb SD card with many folders of MP3 music in hopes of using this unit as a music streamer to replace a failed (and ancient) iPhone. This Timmkoo player has a simple user interface that promised ease of use as an mp3 streamer. But the interface is sluggish in response to finger taps and often lags behind a few steps. So multiple taps (as if the first tap didn’t work) can trigger multiple responses that take you where you don’t want to go. So I find myself often hitting the home button and then going more slowly than I would like to work my way through the alphabetic listing of artists and albums. Because the interface is so slow I divided my artists into several top level folders separate by alpha letters; A-E, F-J, etc. This scheme eliminates a lot of finger swipes that are otherwise required to get from A to Z in a long list of artist folders. Once an album folder is accessed the player will stream the songs in alpha order. That’s what I want, so that part works ok. I number my tracks starting with 01 so the albums play songs in the correct order. But...and here’s a bummer...the software seems to stick on the most recent folder. When I move to a different folder (album) and start the first song it doesn’t play; instead, the first song of the prior folder plays, followed by all the songs in the prior folder. Very annoying. I haven’t found a consistent easy way to resolve this. So for now I return to the home screen and start over. It’s time consuming, but it seems to work every time. The Bluetooth connections are also flaky. The unit will connect ok but has brief (I.e. 20 ms) interruptions every five minutes or so. And, when it powers down, it won’t reconnect with a prior device unless the “forget this device” routine is performed. So I have to re-pair every time. So I am making do with the device for now. Would I buy another one? No.

This was a pretty good player, with no major problems, for almost exactly three years. Then, the battery died, and replacements are only available from probably-sketchy websites that aren't in English. I'm still on the fence about whether to buy another or look elsewhere. There was only one real issue I ever had when the player was working, that I had to have it reload from the memory card whenever I added more music to the card. This involved looking through a lot of menus; I should have written out some instructions and taped them to the back of the thing. Everything else - size, capacity, sound quality, etc. - was great. And I'm sure it would still work if I got a new battery.

This is definitely a good MP3 player for my car or work outs. I normally like to keep this ins my car so I do not have to plug my phone in all the time. The reason being is that I don't want my phone to be drained or taxed playing music. This product right out of the box is very well packaged. It provides you with the type C USB cable, headphones, and a clear case for the MP3 player. The headphones feel a bit cheap so I do recommend purchasing a better pair. It is Bluetooth capable so you can use Bluetooth headphones if you wish. The first thing I have to say about it is that the front facing glass is beautiful. It is not something that you can easily scratch and provides a nice clear video. The user interface is pretty simple and easy to use. The interface has several different functions from video to reading ebooks. For ebooks it seems to be okay with reading just PDF books which is really nice. The only issue is that I do not want to read on such a small screen. It does have a pretty good radio on it. I did not have too many static issues. It is a nice thing to have when I need to go to those drive in movie theaters. I do not have to use my car radio and risk running my battery out. The battery life varies depending on what you use it for. From what I can tell it can last on average 10 to 12 hours on headphones and 4-5 hours on speakers with movie running. The charge time varies as well and charges via type c usb cable. The speakers are pretty good and could be used as a standalone if you wished. The arm band that comes with it is definitely not a one size fit all. I think it works well for the average person but if you are bulked out on the arms you may have issues with fitting. I think 8 gb is enough but it does have a micro SD card slot if you wish for more music and video. It can be expanded to 128 gb. I have not tried my bigger SD cards but 128 gb works fine to me. Although it can be a bit laggy scrolling through all the songs trying to read music from hte SD card. The video quality can run at 1080p. It does not have any games on it unfortunately. Honestly it is a great thing to have if you are trying to keep your kids busy as well. You can load this device with cartoons and such and just play from this device rather than your phone. The clear case is nice and protective from scratches but it is easy to take sun damage. I would recommend putting the case on as the back is glossy and prone to scratches. Overall, this Mp3 player does the job for what I want. It plays music, videos, and can even read ebooks. It has a pretty good battery life and takes the strain off my phone.

I have tested 3 of the six cheap music players, and this one so far, and I don't see it getting beaten, punches WAY above its weight. $50, decently large 4.5in (480x800) IPS screen with an interface and navigation scheme that's not dumb. The other two which are also touch based, have obtuse swiping gestures, but since this has a home and a back button, it feels familiar to those who have used Android (this doesn't run Android). Pros (THERE ARE A LOT OF THEM) -Great screen, decent enough resolution and is truly IPS, now it's not 178 all angles great, but it's far better than the cheap TN panels I've dealt with with the other two 10 dollar cheaper media players. -Features: Good features, randomly has a built in dictionary, I don't know why, but it's there and it's kind of neat. The on-board microphone is actually pretty decent, sensitive, and you need to do some post processing to mitigate background noise but better than just throwing a cheap one in there. -User Experience: Everything seems to work, you touch it, and it works, has press and hold to enter selection mode and then can easily add multiple things into a collection when in music mode to make a playlist. The keyboard that's on screen for the dictionary is nice and responsive, also not very small, very usable on this tiny device. -Quality: for $50 you're getting a lot of it here, decent screen, above average built in speaker that gets decently loud enough, a 4 pole headphone/mic jack. A microSD card slot that can ACTUALLY accept cards larger than 128, tried a 256GB and it hadn't any issue. The build is great, glass and metal where you need and want them Comes with a decent silicon case and two screen protectors. Thing charges up fast thanks to USB C, during a 15 minute video transfer, it topped off the battery as well which was about 50% full. Decent brightness and darkness with no real light bleed or issue. Came with a very weird 4 ended connector, don't know what that's for. It's a micro b and usb C connector on both ends, with both connectors coming out to form a Y. Very interesting and unique cable. Also, the headphones, something this cheap comes with decent headphones. The cable is braided, and the quality are nice, not Samsung Galaxy AKG bundled headphones nice, but not cheap dime store ones either, the earpiece is metal as well. AGAIN, a lot of weird quality for such a budget device. Cons: Music Play Back: Music sounds fine, and in and of itself, plays well, too. Great scanning and searching feature, no lag skipping through a song to get to a hook. THOUGH, and this is an annoying THOUGH, seems to have a big bug. When playing songs from a folder it will sometimes play a random song besides the one you pressed. I don't know why that is. One theory and not enough testing has happened to verify it fully, is that if you play a song from one folder, and then go into another folder and decide to play a song from that folder. It doesn't interupt the song and change to the new one, it plays a random one which I think is in the previous folder that the song you were listening to but in the position you pressed. So song two from folder A would play even if you press song two from folder B. Very odd. Keep in mind: This isn't an android device or a proper ipod touch like device, keep expectations realistic. I loaded an 8GB video from my SD card and it took a while to lode, and initial playback was weird. Audio syncing issues that seemed to correct itself when enough of the video got buffered. It played well after that. While the screen is IPS, it's also prone to washing out, which was more apparent in the video test I ran. This also doesn't come with ANYTHING but the dictionary installed as far as content goes. No photos to show off the good display. No sample music to test that out. No video sample either. BUT, OTG works flawlessly. SO FAR, this is a huge recommend.

This Mp4 player has excellent quality...picture wise, sound wise, etc. But once in a while it does some weird things like restart itself, and sometimes it takes a long while to process what you press. Not sure if its because this was made in China or whatnot. Its certainly not a Sony or Sanyo quality player. Update 2024... I've had this for 2 years now and I expected the life of my player to continue, since I don't use it very often and treated very respectfully. Yet it started to do some weird things to me. I call Customer Service and they helped with technical support to reset my player. So apparently the player needs to be reset every so often! But then another problem came up...... Besides eating up a lot of power very quickly, the screen detaches itself from the player! And when I sought out CS for help and assistance, they just told me to buy another one! Upon investigation I found out it's because the battery has expanded. Probably because of age. The expanded battery then pushes the screen up away from the player. But this is a very poor design. A flaw that needs to be corrected. Otherwise I believe my player would have lasted me a few more years, saving me $50 money from having to buy another one! Why can't there be an MP4 player out there that lasts longer and doesn't eat up too much power so quickly, and doesn't have an expanding battery that pushes a screen out!? Isn't there a company out there that makes such a player? Please advertise on amazon! I hate having to buy products from companies that suck!

Alles funktioniert einwandfrei und mit gutem Klang. Es ist ein abgespecktes, kleines Android-Mobiltelefon ohne Telefonfunktion und WiFi. Genau das war benötigt für die Benutzung durch ein Kind. Guter Klang, sowohl beim eingebauten Lautsprecher. als auch beim kopfhören mit Bluetooth. Keine Verbindungsprobleme mit Bluetooth. Klasse Display, gerade groß genug um Fotos, Film und E-Book lesen zu können. Etwas größer und schwerer als bei den billigen mini-Playern ... aber diese funktionieren auch oft nicht wie erwartet. Sehr gute Ordner-Funktion, die auch bei nicht gut gepflegten MP3-Tags leichte und präzise Navigation ermöglicht. Natürlich auch gute Suchfunktionen, wenn die MP3 Tags gepflegt sind. Für Hörbücher, die in vielen Stücken geleifert werden, gut geeignet, als auch für große Hörbücher an einem Stück, denn man kann auch vor und zurück innerhalb einer großen Datei navigieren. Basically, what you're getting is an Android mobile phone without the phone. If you're used to Android phones you'll be fine with it as the layout looks like a mobile phone. When it comes to using it as an MP3 player there is a lot going on "under the bonnet" so to speak. The instruction manual that comes with the player goes no where near all the settings you'll come across .... and there definately a lot of settings that aren't explained. For example there is a setting that appears to complement the equalizer called "MSEB". This appears to allow you to set the sound quality of the singers voice, whether the sound of drums is crisp or muffled, whether the bass is 'light' or 'deep', whether female voices are 'detoxed' or 'intoxicating' (?), whether the sibilance (eh, whats that meant to be?) is 'soft' or 'crisp' (??). So if you're like me you spend hours wondering what on earth what certain unexplained functions are meant to do and then getting the sound quality as you like it. You'll also have fun working out how to set your own playlists - and then find them! and then how to play tracks in sequence. The earbuds that come with the player are adequate. I bought a pair of earbuds that has a deep base response as the ones that come with the player struggle with deep base. It says that battery life is up to 77 hours in factory tests. In reality I suspect that means it was left switched on, display switched off and with no music playing or being uses in any way. I use mine for a couple of hours a day and need to charge it every 3-4 days. The other functions such as calendar, ebook reader, calculator, gallery and clock are very similar to that you'll find on your average mobile. So you should'nt have any problems there. The touch screen is ok and the image is bright and crisp with good contrast. Overall Im pleased with this player. But the MP3 player does take a lot of getting used to in order to get the best out of it. The only complaint I would have is that it doesn't come with a silicon sleeve and there doesnt appear to be any that would fit it.

Das Gerät ist sehr handlich, stabil, schön groß deshalb kein Fingergefummel, gute Menüführung, ohne Anleitung gut zu verstehen, die Einstellung ist von Anfang an auf deutsch. Der mitgelieferte Kopfhörer ist gut vom Klang. Mein Eindruck. Nach vielen Chinaschrottkäufen endlich mal ein guter stabiler Player. Und deshalb von mir 5 Sterne.

Very comprehensive MP3 and MP4 player, setup was a bit of an issue for me, as I was making the install on a W7 64k PC. Tork me around 15 mins of playing around and installing the required app. Had to reboot my PC and re-attach the player. But it was picked up and I was easily able to transfer music MP3 and Vid MP4s from the desktop PC, it does not seem to play AVI but just about all other formats, and the sound is very good for it seize. Blutooth worked to my Kanto speakers.
