Helped me to monitor my heart after COVID-19
I enjoy using this EMAY EKG monitoring device. It's very helpful. You can find more advanced medical grade ECG monitors on the Internet for over $300. The 12-lead ECG monitors are the most accurate in existence. However, this product is useful for what it can do.It detects these 12 cardiac situations: arrhythmia, tachycardia, bradycardia, missed beat, ST elevation, ST depression, Accidental VPB, VPB trigeminy, VPB bigeminy, VPB couple, VPB runs of 3/4, and VPB RonT.A "No abnormalities" message will appear after 30 seconds if your cardiac performance is normal. Of course, a normal heart rate at rest without doing any exercise beforehand is between 60 to 100 beats per minute. The ECG rhythm line will be orange when you turn it on. After a few seconds with the device pressed against you, it will turn green when it starts recording your heart rate. Moreover, you'll notice that Olympic athletes will have a resting rate of 30 to 50 beats per minute. If you're physically fit and have a low body fat percentage, it's normal to have a lower resting heart rate. A half hour after I walked 2,800 steps, the monitor showed that I had tachycardia due to my resting rate being 102. Don't let it mislead you. With no physical activity, my normal rate is about 78. Take recordings throughout the day.Anyways, I tested positive for COVID-19 a few weeks ago. I dealt with a dry cough, fever, runny nose, and a bit of chest discomfort. I didn't have pain in my chest, but I still wanted to monitor my heart rate. I could easily take a deep breath in without problems. But I had never experienced anything like that in my entire life. It was concerning.Additionally, I can't stress this next point enough. After you get over covid, it's important to start walking and getting a little bit of cardiovascular exercise. I was forced to avoid weight-lifting due to lightheadedness. I started taking at least 5,000 steps per day for five days per week.I was already lifting weights at least four times per week prior to covid, but my heart needed more cardiovascular exercise. That might have been why the virus was settling in my chest. My heart needed to be more physically fit to overcome the respiratory disease. It was certainly not my immune system. If you're able to do 7,000 to 10,000 steps per day, this will give you terrific cardiovascular fitness.

Simple to use, works well
We opted for this device because it does not require a smartphone to take a reading, and because it has the option for multiple profiles. My dad, who needs it most, is kind of hopeless with smart technology, so having a device that is self-contained is ideal. He just turns it on, gets the reading, then hands it to me to do whatever needs doing.Do note, while a smart device or computer are not required to take a reading, they ARE required to access the data later. The computer option and the smart device option are completely separate; use the one that is more comfortable for you. I do not recommend trying to use both because there does not seem to be a way to share data between the two.I track my life on my phone, so I'll be using the app. This is where you can set up multiple accounts, and it's very easy to do. Note that the device itself does not track multiple users! If you are taking readings for multiple people, make sure you have downloaded the first person's data to the correct profile before having the second person take a reading. I did try to dl the same data to two different accounts, and it seems that once the info has been loaded on the app it is deleted from the device. I didn't see a way in the app to move data between profiles. But keeping the profiles straight is the only complication. On the computer app you can see what data is on the machine and select which readings you want to download. Whatever you dl also seems to be removed from the machine. You also fill in the profile information for each record. On the plus side, if readings have been taken on multiple people before transferring the data, you can identify what goes to which profile - provided you remember which readings belong to which person. On the minus side, that can be a LOT of data to download and sort if you haven't done it in a while. It'd be nice if the computer program allowed you to set profiles, then let you select which data would go to which profile, but if you do your data dls regularly I don't think filling in the data would be too time-consuming.Ideally, the phone app and the computer program could be paired, with data synchronized between them. A way to move data between profiles on the app would also be nice, for those times you forget to switch profiles before downloading data. But in the end those are extras. The core function of getting the reading works fine, and downloading the data is only complex if you are tracking more than one person. So far, a solid option for tracking heart function between visits to the cardiologist.

Very Pleased
For some time I've experienced intermittent episodes of a low heart rate and my doctor thought it would be helpful if I had my own EKG monitor at home. This device is fast, compact, easy to set up, and works very well. As a matter of fact my girlfriend likes it so much she decided to purchase one of her own to keep with her when she travels. I do recommend you also get a hard case for it so you can keep the device, manual, and charging cable safe. Definitely recommended!

Peace of mind
I was having sporadic palpitations that were freaking me out and with no health insurance, I just wanted to see if anything was going on before taking the trip to urgent care. This device gave me peace of mind and an actual name for what was going on. I even showed my findings on the app to the urgent care doctor and he said "oh yeah, you're having an ectopic heartbeat" which their EKG didn't pick up because it wasn't happening at that moment. 100000000% worth the money and super easy to use!

Simple, effective device to monitor heart rhythm
I purchased this product upon the recommendation of my cardiologist to track possible irregularities in my heartbeat, and it has performed exactly as advertised. In less than a minute, I can check my rhythm and pulse, and add that report to a catalog of all my assessments. For someone who can’t really feel when my heartbeat gets into an irregular pattern, this provides great peace of mind.

Great piece of technology.
I bought this ECG monitor as I have irregular heartbeats, I have had two 24 hour monitors fitted from the hospital on two different occasions but unfortunately the irregular heart beats did not happen. So my GP suggested I bought this monitor so we can catch the episode when it happens and i can email the results to my GP for diagnosis. It's so easy to set up with your phone just download the app, I'm using an android phone it works really well. I feel at ease now I have this as at least I will be able to get a diagnosis. Great little piece of kit.

Peace of mind
Bravo - This little device is superb. As a nurse for 30 years obviously I am able to read clinical monitoring to some degree anyway. Now I don’t say you should contact you doctor but instead use these because even the most ingenious technology can fail. But even your doctor is asking patients to do their own Blood Pressure and phone in the results.I know this little device is accurate because I tried it on family and friends I know to have cardiac abnormalities. My daughter is a medical registrar with an ectopic heat beat. It’s an extra Beal completely harmless. Device picked it up straight away. I have tachycardia and it picks it up everytime. The use of it is very easy. So long as you hold it comfortably at certain points in the palms it gives a good reading after a few seconds. I have an app to up load the results. Obviously don’t ignore any chest problems including pain just because a device says no abnormalities, doesn’t mean you are not pre myocardial infarction.Still it gives you an indication of how your heR is working from an electrical perspective. I recommend

OK if you don't need the case!
The product itself is fine if overpriced, it pairs easlily with an iPhone and its APP. I was going to buy a case but at four times the price of something similar I decided not to order at the same time, I was going to make sure the monitor did what it was supposed to do first. It arrived and seemed to work fine and there was a half price ticket in the box for a case and all I was supposed to do was send an email quoting the Amazon order number. I emailed them and 48 hours past with no reply. Then I finally got a reply after I emailed them again asking what did I want, another monitor or case? I sent another email saying I wanted a case, another 24 hours and I got a reply saying to 'let them know when you are ready to place the order' to which I replied that I was ready now to place the order. Another 48 hours went by and then I received a code. I then went on to order it but Amazon rejected the code instantly as invalid. I wrote yet one more time telling them that it was rejected and have heard NOTHING since, over a week ago. I have given up dealing with them and if the monitor does ever go faulty during the warranty period I will just bin it and buy an equivalent one at half the price, call it a 'lesson learned'. The firm is rubbish to deal with, the product is OK but grossly overpriced in my opinion.

Possibly the most important thing I've bought
I bought this device after suffering from palpitations varying from 5 mins to 30 mins despite my high level of fitness as a keen cyclist. Before that, my GP arranged for a 24 hour then 5 day monitor from the hospital, but these picked up no anomalies as my condition seemed totally random and didn't present during the monitoring periods.I kept on at my GP but was getting nowhere. I told him that my rate was over 200bpm but he didn't believe me - "How do you know?"So I bought this device and sure enough I was able to capture a waveform to present to my GP.That same day I was put on the priority list for a cardiologist. Uh oh.I showed the cardiologist further readouts from the Emay device and he was impressed with the information, even with this device it was discriminating two different kinds of problematic waveforms, one of which indicating VT or SVT at very high rates.I was then hooked up to a treadmill test on a 12-lead device at hospital which identified an anterolateral accessory pathway which was recently treated with an ablation procedure.Without the information I was able to capture with the Emay device I very much doubt that I would have got the procedure. If left untreated, who knows what would have resulted. But I now look forward to improved quality of life after this surgery.

Worth the upgrade
I already have the standard EMAY ECG monitor and was going to buy one for my father who has recently had a minor stroke due to irregular heart beat. I then came across the Bluetooth version and thought I'd give it a go instead. The items came really well packaged. On opening it's packed like a high quality phone. It can be used straight away by simply turning it on and holding it as instructed (between your palms or fingers). The old version by default gave a very short reading, you had to connect it to a computer to change it.This new one by default takes a 30 second reading which is far better. The phone app isn't required as the device gives instant analysis after the 30 seconds, but it could be useful for sharing readings with a doctor. The App can be downloading from Google Play, the one complaint I have is the permissions required by the phone app. It shouldn't need access to my contacts, location, media etc...Once installed the App is very easy to use, connecting the device to my phone via Bluetooth was straight forward, simply open the app and turn on the device and they connect, once connected the reading are transferred to the phones app automatically.Readings can then be exported to pdf's on the phone app and shared via email.Overall I'm very happy with the device, and I would recommend it over the non-Bluetooth version for it's default settings and for the ability to share reports with ease. The following is the review I wrote for the original non-Bluetooth version, all of the below applies to this one aswell.Anyone who's previously suffered with Arrhythmia should have one of these. Every muscle strain or minor chest pain makes you paranoid that it's back, you don't want to be repeatedly going to the doctor for ECGs when it's nothing but at the same time you are really paranoid that it is something. This device is so good at putting your mind at ease, it's simple to use and is really easy to operate. It gives a clear reading and can also be connected to a computer to view and print the actual trace if there is something detected. For me it always detects Bradycardia as my heart rate is always around 45bpm (I run marathons).I was a then a bit worried that because it detected Bradycardia each time that it would only display that and wouldn't display anything else. I email the company and got a very quick response to inform me it will display up to 3 issues. This is a must have for home health monitoring along with a Blood Pressure Monitor
