Feels like I'm getting a real massage, except I'm in control of where it's placed. It kneads very deep but I can control the pressure with the weight of my arms in the loops. I compared it to other neck massagers of this same type, and this did the best job with the least amount of noise, and with the most settings (3 different speeds vs. some others which only have 2 speeds). I'm glad I went for a cordless one because I can take this anywhere in my home and not worry about finding an open outlet. The battery life is pretty good, I get probably 4-5 30 minute massages out of it before needing to recharge, which only happens every 5 days or so if I use it daily. It's been helping a lot with my shoulder and neck tension I experience on a daily basis--my chiropractor even told me those muscles are now a lot less tense than before. The heating aspect is hardly noticeable, but I don't mind that since I mostly bought it for the massaging capability. I can feel the heat more if it's right on my skin. You can adjust the heat too--settings are low, high, and off. The direction rotates every 30 seconds, but if you hit the directional button, it will change direction and stay that way until you hit the button again or turn it off. I use that feature a lot. The three speeds are nice but I tend to keep it on the main speed it's automatically on because it's just right. Note that the strength of the massage will weaken as the battery drains. Usually I don't notice a difference until it's almost out of battery (with maybe 30 minutes left), and even then, it still gives a great massage--and you can always increase the speed to compensate. You can avoid the weakening issue by keeping it charged or plugged in. I also don't notice a difference in strength when it's plugged in vs. unplugged with full battery, which is good.

I saw all the good reviews so thought I'd give this a try. I've been suffering from severe pain in one side of my upper back (right rhomboid) for over 3 years. My doctors injected me, gave me muscle relaxants, and told me to keep doing the yoga I had already been doing daily for years. All to no avail. They chalked it up to an extremely tight and spasming muscle, exacerbated by constant and extreme stress and too much sitting. Since I can't afford regular massages, I would just suffer for weeks and then take a muscle relaxant every once in a while for slight and very temporary relief. AND THEN I FOUND MY FIX WITH THIS LITTLE MASSAGER!!! I used this for the first time for about 20 minutes just on my upper back, with the heat on. It's a good heat, not too hot but definitely not a tepid warm. It really helps to loosen up the muscles. I then turned off the heat and used it for 20 minutes on my mid and lower back. By the end, i felt a bit loosened up, but also a little sore. The next day, my back was sore, but in a really good way. Like someone had given me a deep tissue massage. As I was walking around that day, I suddenly noticed that my back didn't hurt! There was NO pain! This was the first day in over 3 years that I wasn't in pain. I was shocked. I kept using the massager for 20 minutes a day for a few days, then switched to every other day, and now every few days. I am amazed that my back doesn't hurt anymore. It gets a little tight and I use this and holy cow, relief! I strongly recommend this little guy. I had little faith that it would do much, and I am so amazed and happy and ahhhhhh... Great product!!!!

I really love this neck massager. I had a full back and neck massager that was not comfortable for me to use, it seemed to hit spots in my back that were uncomfortable and the neck aspect wasn't that effective. However this Neck Massager really, really, REALLY, works on my neck. It really loosens tight muscles when needed. It also can easily be moved to reach your lower head or base of your neck and even works great between the shoulder blades and lower back. Like I said I REALLY like this massager. However the controls are lacking in visual settings. There is a blue light that comes on when charging or using however that is the only visual indicator. There is no indicator as to what heat setting is on or what intensity. In conclusion this neck massager works really well but I can't give it 5 stars because you are guessing as to what settings are being used. They should use different light colors for the individual buttons like they do for heated vests to make this massager really perfect.

Fantastic deep tissue massager. I suffer from cervical radiculopathy. I have tried a few different products. This massager helps with shoulder and neck muscle deep massage. Three different controls with heat. Both me and my wife will benefit from this. It does look a little bulky and not sure if I can have it at work. Less than 60$ and great value

I got this because lately I've been having a lot of neck pain and constantly trying to massage my neck with my hands to alleviate some of that pain really wasn't doing much. The way this massager works took me by surprise at first because it really presses into your neck and gives you nice deep massage, it honestly made me laugh at first because it did tickle. The little roller balls aren't uncomfortable and I like that they change directions so you're getting a remote version of a nice neck massage. Because it's shaped like a scarf almost you can tuck your hands into the loops at the end to give yourself a deeper massage as needed. The downside is that your hands/arms will get tired doing that for an extended period of time because they're at an angle.

The massager is great but BEWARE!!!! The wall charger that came with it, had bare wires! It’s broken and not safe to use. Luckily it comes with a charger for the car and that is where I intend to Use it anyways, on long car rides.

I bought the Etekcity massager to replace my broken back massager. At first I wasn’t sure if I liked it. It feels different, it moves at a different speed, it changes directions, etc. I was comparing the features to my broken down but familiar model that I had gotten used to. How much did I really like my old massager anyway? I bought it on sale from a local pharmacy and had gotten used to it. I didn’t like how the motor would lose power after using it for what didn’t seem like long enough to me. But I would just let it cool off for awhile and turn it back on until it stopped working again...so it really wasn’t that great. It was just familiar. I decided to make my decision based on reviews! Thank you to all of you other detailed reviewers! I skipped over the reviewers who received free or discounted products. I know they try to be unbiased, and many are, but how much someone actually likes something is absolutely skewed by how much they invested in it. I chose this model Etekcity massager because it is similar to my old burned out one, it has heat function that can be turned off (my old one didn’t have heat until it was about to shut off and finally until the cord burned where it connected to the unit so I was not sure I wanted heat), it has really really really good reviews, and the price was low enough that even if it didn’t work for a long time I would be okay replacing it without feeling like I had wasted my money on junk. I am happy to report I love it! I’ve had it for over a year now and it still works perfectly. I use it every day, sometimes more than once, and there have been no problems with the motor lagging or with anything else. It still looks as nice as the day it arrived. I am happy with my purchase and I recommend this to everyone who has back pain, tight muscles, or who just loves kneading massages. The one and only thing I’m not fond of is how easily the cord from the unit disconnects from the cord that goes into the wall/car adapter. It’s not the end of the world now that I’m aware of it. I am careful about positioning it so the cord is not hanging down right at the connection point.

I'm super disappointed in this. We bought it close to two years ago but only used it for a few weeks at first. It seemed great. Then we had to pack a lot of stuff away while doing extensive work on the house, and this was kept with other massagers in a storage room. Nothing put on top of it. No extreme conditions. Just set aside. Today I had a sore neck and remembered I had this, so I found it and tried to use it. And... it no longer works correctly. It didn't work at all initially, so I put it on its charger for an hour or so. It would turn on for a massage, but only when still plugged in, so it looks like the battery no longer charges at all. But even when it's plugged in, the heat doesn't work at all, and neither does the intensity button. Hitting either one does nothing at all. This was initially easy to use, great relief for shoulder and neck pain, and it just felt nice overall. But this costs enough that it absolutely shouldn't be dying after such minimal use. Such a shame, but I can no longer recommend it.

Excellent, awesome, so satisfying, the only thing I wish this had a way to strap it so I can also do other things at the same time such as typing when I’m working on the computer. Otherwise great product and great quality 5 out of 5

This is a great massager, I use it primarily for my neck and it really provides a deep massage. Please don't have any hesitations buying this product, not only is it a great massager, but one the seller stands behind. Our original unit stopped working almost a year after purchase, but when I contacted the seller, they were super helpful and replaced my unit with no hassles! I would not hesitate to buy any of their other products.

Have been using this massager for over a year and it works very well. Charge last long. Motors are powerful and does to stop even when a detect amount of tension is applied.
