Lonely Planet Korean Phrasebook & Dictionary Paperback – 16 July 2020

Bought for secret santa and could not be happier with it. My person loved it and says it’s a very helpful and good book

I had a Berlitz Korean phrasebook but gave it away as a present. The Lonely Planet edition came along and I decided to buy it. The book size and the font used inside are smaller than Berlitz, it makes reading difficult, especially at my age :). I have a Berlitz Japanese around to compare. One thing which is most annoying are that the order of the alphabets, both the vowels and consonants are not in the order it's taught in school. This should help with memorizing it. The consonants should be ㄱ ㄴ ㄷ ㄹ ㅁ ㅂ ㅅ o ㅈ ㅊ ㅋ ㅌ ㅍ ㅎ ㄲ ㄸ ㅃ ㅆ ㅉ and the vowels ㅏ ㅑ ㅓ ㅕ ㅗ ㅛ ㅜ ㅠ ㅡ ㅣ ㅐ ㅒ ㅔ ㅖ ㅚ ㅟ ㅢ ㅘ ㅝ ㅙ ㅞ. I knew it by heart but this is very important for anyone who is starting out. The paper quality also feels cheap too. Overall it's a disappointment, hence the 3-stars. I will probably buy the Berlitz Korean again!
