Dagger 22: U.S. Marine Corps Special Operations in Bala Murghab, Afghanistan

Teamwork
I have read many, many stories of combat in many wars and this well-written book is right up there amongst the very best. The U.S. Marines teams difficulties with the rules of engagement and pointless, dangerous interference and politics from staff officers are very well described. Whilst this is a very personal book, the author is clearly exorcising a few demons and one can never blame anyone who has been in combat for that, the underlying thread is about the 'team' and teamwork. I did appreciate the brief nods the author gives to the British forces work and losses in Afghanistan. There seemed respect there. Likewise Mr. Golembesky, likewise and thank you for this work.

Fascinating read - but leaves you feeling if all the sacrifice was worth it.
Read this follow up to Level Zero Heros and it did not disappoint. However the book leaves you thinking about the lives lost for a strategy that probably achieved little. It does not take away from the courage and endurance of all involved. A good read, obviously well researched and very informative.

It was written by an actual forces member.
I liked the complete story which walked me thru the actions of team Dagger22 performing their duties. Also liked as there was limitted talk about the political battles in the White House about who does what.

interessantes Buch über MARSOC
Sehr interessantes Buch über den Einsatz eines MARSOC Team in Afghanistan. Zuerst sollte erstes Buch über vorherigen Einsatz gelesen werden.
