Absolutely amazing book to read

Fantastic book! If you are looking for a resource to help take you deeper into understanding the word of God and the workings of God, then this it. So many times throughout the book, Mr. Sorge captures exactly what I am thinking and saying as I go through my own "fire" in life right now. His writing on God's purposes for broken faith and broken strength make sense and bring me peace that I am right where God wants me to be. It helps me to know that God is pouring out his mercy and love on me at this time in my life to prepare me for His works and blessings. In short, this book is helping me get where I wanted to go, which was to grow in intimacy with God.The only caution I have is that this is a very meaty read. It is deep spiritual work and highly thought-provoking. I'm not sure I would recommend it to new Christians because I think you need to have a certain level of maturity in your Christian life to really comprehend and incorporate the teachings from this book into your spiritual walk.Overall, just a fantastic book!

Our home group has been meeting for over 7 years, and we don't just drink coffee and eat. WE STUDY! This book is so encouraging because it addresses situations and thoughts that we ALL have or will encounter. We are using it to encourage everyone in the group to be transparent and to share what God has taught them through the years about praying, waiting and learning. We have been using the book for the last 3 weekly meetings and are only half way through the 1st chapter because of the discussion and prayer sessions developing as we pray. If you want maturity in your prayer life, THIS BOOK WILL HELP YOU!!

This profoundly impacting book by Bob Sorge has completely turned my "thinking" upside down... or should I say, right side up! I have taken my time in reading this gem. There is entirely too much "meat" for a quick read... therefore, a book review is quite difficult to complete. Suffice it to say, if you find yourself in a season of "waiting," if your dreams are unrealized, if you're struggling to understand WHY our Father intentionally walks us through times of waiting... then this book will provide enlightenment, encouragement and a stirring up of your faith. Seasons of waiting are for our good, to prepare us for what's ahead, to make us strong, and to press us into HIM. What the "waiting" produces in us far outweighs the pain of crying out. My spirit says "Yes!"

This book is a must have for Christians in the midst of tests, trials and spiritual warfare. I've read a number of Christian books about prayer, intercession and tribulations. Most tend to be rather shallow. But never have I read a book that hits at the very heart of "deep calling unto deep" spiritual warfare in the midst of personal difficulties like Bob Sorge's The Fire of Delayed Answers. This book provides a very mature analysis and solution for Christians going through those extremely difficult experiences in life, whether those trials are relational, physical, financial, spiritual or any combination thereof. You won't be disappointed by this book. This book goes way beyond 'spiritual grade school' and instead takes the reader to 'spiritual graduate school'. As I mentioned previously, this book is "deep calling unto deep". Highly recommended.

This book is an absolutely accurate and honest portrayal of the agony of delayed answers to prayer in our lives. So so good. He could have been writing about my own experience the journey he describes is so accurate. The only discordant note in the whole book for me is that he writes as if addressing men only, it’s very odd.

I found this book resonated with me as I have suffered ill health for many years despite my prayers.I found comfort and encouragement through the authors honest testimony of his own struggle.It made me feel less alone and isolated in my frustrations and desperation for healing.Knowing that others ask the same difficult questions, have the same disappointments and yet hold on to their faith through it allbrought me solace.Knowing that God is refining me ,shaping me and that I am growing in my knowledge and love of God because of my struggleand as I wait for deliverance gives me strength to hold on and keep going.Thank you Bob Sorge for this treasured book.

Great book and found it extremely insightful. It gave me a different understanding when trails come, which they will (James 1) to trust in God every step of the way.

This is the best book i've read on the topic on suffering and when you have not received answers to your prayers. It has encouraged me a lot, God has used this book a lot to encourage me and to bring me closer to Him. I have given this book as a present to many of my friends, I find it really good.

There is little I can say to rpaise this book highly enough, the personal sharing of the author is heart rending, on two counts... both from the journey he has been on eliciting great empathy in me and then the answers and wisdom shared has answered many questions I have had in my life as well as confirming many things I have have thought.Bless you Mr. Sorge
