AWESOME! WORKS WITH MY ABODE SYSTEM WELL
I have Abode home security & automation system and needed a lock that works with it. The Yale Assure lock with z-wave was up and running in 10 minutes (to be fair I have installed a lot of regular dead bolts, this isn't really any different, just have to make sure you put the wires in the right way, but that's pretty easy). The z-wave integration with Abode was easy enough, although if your not tech savy you may struggle with that part. Nice that I can set it up to notify my phone when its open, AND I can lock and unlock through my Abode phone app The lock is grade 2, so better than a regular cheap deadlock you'd pick up at the hardware store, so it is a step up in security, just make sure your strike plate on the door frame using 3 inch long screws that reach the frame, otherwise it won't matter if you have grade1 or 2 or 3 deadbolt- anyone could kick it open in a few seconds. This comes with everything you need, screws and all, just make sure it goes all the way into the frame of the house and not just the trim. The touch screen is very nice and responds very well and the autolock function works really well, especially when you have kids and hands are always full... no fussing with keys is such a luxury that I wish I gotten sooner. This thing looks fancy too. I can't say enough about my first impressions. That being said, I will update in 3 and 6 months... Update: a few months in and I couldnโt be happier. Opening it 5 times a day at least and battery is still strong. No issues, works great!!

Yale Assure Lock with Z-Wave (YRD226-ZW2-619) - User Log Works with SmartThings
Our Schlage keypad deadbolt lock broke after 8yrs of service. I decided to replace it with the Yale Assure Z Wave smart lock to integrate it with our SmartThings (ST) hub. Installation was very easy. The only issue I ran into was the deadbolt mechanism did not operate smoothly when I first installed it. The installation diagram mentions you need to check that it moves freely at each step of the way and although I thought I followed the directions it was still sticking. It appears the deadbolt mechanism and the interior/exterior covers have very small tolerance so you need to constantly check for smooth operation while mating and fastening them through the deadbolt mechanism (it might help with an extra pair of hands). One thing I dislike is the included rectangular strike plate for the door frame. It would have been nice if Yale provided a plate with a lip. As for programming the lock, there are many reviews/comments saying this Z Wave lock does not show who unlocked the deadbolt in the ST app log. This is inaccurate. You can see who unlocked the deadbolt if you follow the directions below: 1) Follow the directions that came with the lock including the step where you set your master entry code 2) DO NOT create regular entry codes using the keypad. If you created entry codes from the lock's keypad, ST history log will only show "Code 2" or "Code 3" as the one who unlocked the deadbolt. If you created codes using the keypad, you'll have to do a factory reset and start over. 3) Open the ST app on your phone (I'm using an iPhone app) and on the upper left corner of the screen, tap the three horizontal bars (menu bar) 4) Select SmartApps 5) Add the Smart Lock Guess Access widget by tapping on it 6) Once the widget is added, you'll see the widget on the main screen. Select the widget. 7) In the upper left corner of the widget screen, select Lock Codes and then select Invite Guest 8) Complete all three fields and save them for each account you are creating. The info provided in the "Who will be using this lock?" field is what will be shown in the log. 9) You can click on 'History' in the upper right corner and you'll see that each account has been created with a date/time stamp. 10) Users can start using their entry codes immediately. However, their unlock history will not be logged. It seems it takes 4-6 hrs for the user log history to be activated in ST. After 4-6 hrs, when a user unlocks with their code, the history log will show the date/person/time of when the deadbolt unlocked. 11) You can turn on notifications in the ST app and iPhone to notify you each time the deadbolt is unlocked.

Good quality
Good quality! No issues so far!

good product. bad instructions.
a bit complicated to sync with your Ring app, instructions are generic not specific for this model so you have to call support to do it. Once connected, it works great.

Worth what you invest to purchase it.
I got this for a number of reasons: 1) I'm trying to convert into a smart house (have this and an ecobee thermostat, lights are next on the list). 2) One of my roommates loses their keys constantly, so having a keyless entry was beneficial 3) We've been doing work on the house including getting central a/c and having the windows replaced, so having a way for contractors to access the house is great I got this with a keyed entry in addition to the number pad, in case of electrical failure. However, other than testing the keys, we've yet to use them, and I installed this about six months ago. So far, the batteries have not died, and there's been no other electrical failure (knock on wood). I've read a few reviews saying that the key pad wasn't responsive, but neither I nor my roommates have had any problems with that, though it did take a few days to figure out what they meant by "back of the hand to activate" was actually "back of the fingers". We got the hang of it in less than a week, so I'm not sure what else to suggest to people having problems. The nickle finish is smooth and sleek looking. It's quite pretty, and matches a lot of the brushed nickle objects I have in the house. The only hiccup I had was getting it on the wifi, but after I plugged my smartthings hub in closer to the lock, I was able to connect it with no problems, and it stayed connected even after I moved the hub back to its normal location. I especially like that I can lock or unlock from my phone, so that when I come home with a lot of groceries, I don't have to worry about fumbling for keys or stopping to put in a code. I can just unlock it from my car before I even start picking up my grocery bags. This lock was an investment because of the price, but I'd definitely say a good one. Note: I had a pretty smooth installation, so I can't say whether support is good or not for those who have problems. Hopefully, everyone else purchasing this product has as easy an install as I did.

Tried several others at great cost, these work best UPDATE!!! Yes, sour grapes, and why.
I like the integration with Alexa and Ring, and they don't use up batteries like two other brands I tried. I prefer the number pad which disappears when not in use over a fingerprint or bluetooth style of opening. Battery life very good. No problems at all! UPDATE: I RARELY WRITE BAD REVIEWS. After just a little over a year (and of course, out of warranty), the touchpad quit working. (I had purchased 3 of these locks!) I called support to troubleshoot; they had me send a video and a copy of my Amazon receipt. I was told I needed a new touchpad. I sent to them what was requested, then was told I needed a whole new unit because "it was out of warranty" . I then emailed and asked why they told me I just needed the touchpad.. They replied that they "don't sell parts". I emailed again and asked why they has just told me otherwise, they emailed they could "give me" a 20% discount if I bought it off the Yale website, but didn't give me the code. I had to email yet again for the code. Then they gave me the code. It is AnahiJ-WH54837. I went to their site and it is out of stock. My suggestions: either buy a more reliable lock or spend the $79 for a 3 year extended warranty for this $300 lock. If it is going to fail, it will probably do so in 3 years (just a guess). I just think such an expensive item should have lasted much, much longer.

Easy to use!
This item was super easy to install and connect to our Alexa. We really enjoy the convenience of it, since we are forgetful and can just lock our door from anywhere that has wifi, or when we are already up in bed, because we are lazy. lol. It makes us feel safe and secure when we are in or out of our home, to be able to check the app to make sure that we see its locked, in case we forgot if we did or didn't. I also like that you can unlock it from anywhere too, so if I am in the car with a lot of groceries and cannot get get a free hand to unlock, i can do it before i get out of the car and its already unlocked for me. The dock also connects to our Ring app, which makes it easy to find and just click the unlock/lock button quickly. I really enjoy this item and would definitely recommend it anyone that is looking for a smart lock, not just because it is easy to use and convenient, but also user friendly. I am happy that my older aged parents found that it was easy to unlock as well, since they are not very comfortable learning new technologies, but they complimented the ease of use it was for them to unlock. I would say this item is worth the price, which i think is pretty comparable to others similar to it one the market. If you are looking for something that is safe, secure, and user friendly get the Yale lock, it has worked for us for over 4 months without any issues!

So good, I bought 2
When we moved into our new house, the geek in me knew I wanted a smart lock. I looked for one that looked good and found this Yale. Installing and configuring were a breeze. I use a Z-wave module for use with the Hubitat Elevation hub, but I have also used it with HomeKit and prefer Z-wave. Once I paired the z-wave module, I was able to create and assign codes in Hubitat and then automate to my heart's content. When not using an automation, the key pad is easy to see and use during the day and at night. There's a chime that lets you know the lock has locked properly or if the lock has jammed or not closed properly. It runs on 4 AA batteries, which seem to last over a year with our use. One issue you have to be aware of, but this applies to all smart locks. The deadbolt needs to open and close smoothly so you may have to adjust the strike plate in the door frame. Our house settles and shifts between wet winters and very dry summers, so at one point, the door frame wasn't lined up perfectly. We had to file away a bit of the strike plate to make sure that regardless of the season, the lock opens and closes smoothly. Once we did that, we didn't have any problems and the battery life increased quite a bit. Even a little friction in opening and closing will wear the batteries out quickly.

Great Product. Easy to setup and work well with Hubitat ZWave Hub.
The is the 2nd Yale Zwave deadbolt that I bought. The first one (RYD210) was bought back in 2011 and it is still work well. I replace it because the color on the outside is all dull due to 12 years weather exposure. This touchscreen one look much more luxurious and I like the voice instruction is very convenience. Also the sound effort is much soft. But other than that, the installation design and functions are all pretty much sme as 12 years ago. And work just the same. Fairly reliable with few issues that can be resolved by completely reset and reprogram. The only thing lack is the random code feature that Kiwkset/Weiser has so people cannot see your finger print to guest your code.

Really great lock.
I have been using this lock for almost 2 years now. It is on the main door of the house so it is used many times a day. The first time I had to change the batteries was after about 22 months of use. Being Z-wave I have been able to integrate it in to my home automation setup and it works well, but I like that it will also work in its own without joining the z-wave network. Recently we had temperatures in the 40 degrees Celsius range and this lock is on a south facing wall that has no shade or protection from the sun. It performed perfectly without issue. In the direct sun it is a bit hard to see the blue numbers on the keypad but you can still see them. You just have to hold your hand up to shade the number pad. If I had more doors where I could use these locks, I would buy one for each door. You need a door that is ONLY locked by a deadbolt. If you have a deadbolt AND a door handle lock, then you will have to leave the door handle unlocked to get much use out of this in any sort of home automation setup. I like that I can unlock my door to let people in no matter where I am (at work for example) and the lock it again when they leave. Family can drop off or pick stuff up without having to leave the items outside. Good quality hardware and motor. The finish on it is really nice. Blends in with my other hardware well. After two years of daily use, the lock still looks brand new. No ware and tear that I can see. I could go on, but you get the idea.
