Love that it's from the Gulf of Maine!
Such a great product: the Kombu has a rich, umami taste. I use it in soups and bean dishes to deepen their flavors. So much better than salt! And it makes a fabulous dashi for miso soup: I can really taste the difference with this quality product. I also love that this is from the Gulf of Maine: I trust the water there so much more than in the Pacific. Iโll be buying Oceanโs Balance products from now on!

Great Product!!!
When I received the Ocean's Balance Seaweed, it appeared to have mold on the leaves looking through the bag, which I was a bit disappointed. When I opened the bag up, I realized that the powdery substance was salt deposits from the seaweed. I felt so bad thinking it was mold that I wanted to write a review just to let others know it was salt and this product is very good! I added the seaweed to a pot of soup I made and it was delicious!

You get what you pay for
First time purchasing dry seaweed (kelp) to make a soup and itโs delish. Iโm a novice to Asian cooking so I put too much in my first try-a little bit goes a long way so this product will last me most likely until it expires.

Excellent Product Plus Made in the USA
I eat Miso Soup pretty much everyday and wanted to buy a more locally sourced seaweed. I remember watching a 60 Minutes report on Maine seaweed business and decided to look for these products on Amazon. The "white" on the product is salt and this is mentioned right on the bag. I'm addressing this because of other reviews. I bought one bag and made the mistake of buying whole leaf when the flakes would have been fine. Still usable, but I have to cut it. I'm now going to buy more products to include the Wakame and Dulse.

Another good seaweed
Itโs very thick but you can blend or cut it into smaller pieces and hydrate in water before eating.

The importance of the right ingredients
That made the whole difference! The addition of Kombu gave the short grain rice the correct taste and luster that the grain was lacking before. A must I say!

Parfait pour ma soupe miso
Je suis vraiment contente de cette algue que j'utilise pour ma soupe miso. Le fait qu'elle soit biologique est un PLUS PLUS !

Kombu flake -waste of money
We just found the kombu flake has a smell of preservative after being cooked. We bought it with price $74.36. But it is now out of return window. So sad, waste of money.
