Andersen Hitches Stainless Steel Lock Set for EZ/EZ HD Hitches (3493)

Thought it was a legitimately good product when purchased and installed. I even took the hitch on and off a few times, but then I tried to unlock the two locks and they were seized up tight as a drum. I tried and tried to unlock both for several minutes and could not get them open. Sprayed lock cleaner and let it sit for a drive or two, and finally one came open, but the other after trying to get it unlocked again for a couple of hours, I fell to a last resort attempt at not damaging it completely and I took two pair of vice grips and gave the key a stiff turn. Luckily it finally came opened and hopefully I may have the lock functioning at least moderately. I'll probably end up junking them and trying something else. Beware is all I can say.

(See Picture) Used it about a dozen times. Then it broke the locking end right off while driving.I put it on, drove about 30 miles with a small aluminum duck boat, and when i went to unhook at my destination i couldn't believe i hadn't lost my trailer. The locking mechanism was completely gone only a small aluminum lock ring was holding the hitch to the receiver. I was able to remove the ring with my fingers very easily, it came from inside the lock itself. It was being used with the Anderson 3410 Adjustable hitch. It was the longer one that broke on the height adjusting part, not the one in the receiver. I liked it because it locked and unlocked easy, but know i am not sure i want to risk losing a trailer and hurting anyone or anything. It looks like they might have done a redesign since the Amazon picture changed, i will try to contact Andersen Manufacturing. I ordered mine April 21st 2015, it broke on the 29th of August.

Wish I had paid heed to the negative reviews and not purchased these locks! Just returned from a 1400 mile trip and this was the first time I used these locks. We came through some heavy rain but nothing else, all interstate roads, no construction and the lock covers were on the entire time! No visible dirt or grime appeared under the covers and the locks appear clean. HOWEVER, when the trip was over I went to unlock these two keyed devices and they WILL NOT come apart. The key would only go part way into the locks, BOTH OF THEM! Neither lock would let the key go all the way in therefore they will not open! Although these stainless steel locks look good and work before they are used. DO NOT BUY THESE LOCKS!....... I AM GOING TO HAVE TO CUT THEM OFF.

Received the product today and while I haven't had a chance to do a long term review on them they are now advertising them as stainless steel to alleviate the rust issue. I was a little worried about buying them based on the reviews but I ordered them anyway as there weren't any questions regarding if they would work or not in the short term. Note they do not look like the original picture so I am including a picture of them in their original packaging for people looking to compare version.

A little pricey for what they are. I feel this should be more like twenty bucks.I didnt want to mess with various other models, trying to find the ones that would fit. These are the Anderson locks for the Anderson hitch mounts, so minimal fuss there.At first glance, they seem like good quality. In practice not so much. The locking mechanism can be a little finicky at times. I have oiled them and that did not help. Its best to have backup pins for when these eventually seize up.They do look heavy duty, and they match well with the Anderson Hitch products.Overall, not so sure I would buy these again. Very expensive for what it is.

This product is a joke. This is the second time I’ve had to cut off a set of these locks. The first chrome set I bought five years ago with my hitch corroded after a few months and today I bought a new stainless set thinking they should have been able to get it right by now. Nope! First time installing the lock the key came out before the lock was fully engaged and now the key won’t turn and the lock is half engaged! So now I’m cutting up a brand new lock with a sawzall before I even got to use it! Don’t waste your time or money!

Thought I was buying a good quality, long lasting lockable pin system for my hitch. The first time I went to unlock them, one of the pins unlocked but only released part way. Couldn’t get lock portion completely off the pin. Had to cut it off. What a pain. Look for a better system.

I ordered these locking pins to use on my 2.5" Class V Receiver and Andersen Rapid Hitch with 6 inch drop. Fits perfect and the locks turn easily. I do not leave my hitch nor hitch pins in place when not towing anything--I did this with a similar hitch pin product and after one winter, I had to use a hammer to get the corroded pin loose and out of my hitch and receiver--won't be doing this again.

Very nice, good functionally.

Ordered this was under the impression I was get 2 pins for my Anderson hitch dropped off to my door only one pin in box 71$ later one pin lol

Fast to instal and Keys work greatGood quality

Haven't had a chance to use it yet. Comes as a set of 2 pins.
