Bill Nye The Science Guy's Big Blast Of Science

I actually thought this was a DVD - so, I was shocked when it arrived and was a book! That my completely my fault for looking at DVDs so much that I overlooked the word "paperback". But, I'll keep it for our children when they are older, for sure.Not a lot of pictures, no color, and so it's definitely a book for the parents to do stuff with bit older kids.Book was in good shape and promptly delivered. :0)

This book's demonstrations are simple and are helping my non-science oriented daughter become interested in the subject. The reading is broken into small chunks and almost every section has a demonstration that is fairly simple to complete, actually works and only takes a few minutes. Supplemented with a basic grade level science text, this makes a fun homeschool science class for middle school age kids or an advanced elementary age child.

We love Bill Nye so we enjoyed this book - although if the kid rated it, she might rate it lower. She just turned 5 and isn't really into non-picture books yet. Some nights we will read pages and pages from here, other nights we won't. But if your kid is at all interested in science, this is a great read with several chapters on different topics.

Not only is Bill Nye the Science Guy a fantastic scientist and spokesman, but he doesn't sell BS products that are full of fluff.

Bought this for my daughter four years ago when she was 6 and she still loves it to this day! She was able to learn more about science and be ahead in her classes from this book. The beauty of this book is it really makes the topics fun and interesting so it really didn't require any encouragement on my part to get her to learn science. Couldn't recommend this book more.

Worth a read - not as clever as it thinks it is.
