Is it all right to use this product in a parts washer that is designed for water based solvent

No. In my experience if you use a petroleum based solvent (Var-sol, kerosene, etc) with a pump designed for water based solvent the pump housing will distort rendering the pump useless. And create a fire hazard. The pumps for petroleum based solvents usually have "For use with Stoddard solvent or deodorized kerosene" in the description. Both still have a fairly strong smell, BTW.

I only use the parts washer occasionally.. will this solvent evaporate even with the lid on the washer closed?

Yes, any solvent based product will evaporate over any length of time. It does not have a rapid evaporation though.

can it be used with other washer solvants?

We have used it in a washer that had Agitene in it with good results.

How does it smell? PB Blaster is kind of strong.
