They could have done much better
Putamayo usually does a great job of music selections... not with this CD. Someone threw together some subpar blues tunes and called it a day. Skip this mediocre CD and buy another. Putamayo's BLUES AROUND THE WORLD is a great blues CD.

A Must-Have for Blues Fans
If your exposure to the blues comes via England (Stones, Clapton, etc. etc.) without listening to what turned THEM on, get this as a great overview. This has some of the great classic cuts in one CD: John Hurt ("Make me a pallet on your floor"), John Lee Hooker (Baby Don't Do Me Wrong), and Bobby Blue Bland's version of "St James Infirmary" are all fabulous.WARNING: If you don't already have most of these performers in your collection, you soon will. Many thanks to Putumayo World Music for putting this collection together.

great blues
A nice variety of blues. All for the most part dance-able with a nice solid driving beat. I can (and have) listened to the whole cd several times on end, and didn't get tired of it.

Mardi Gras Ladies Night Out Party
Had a Party and needed so New Orleans music. Am not a fan of blues but this cd is wonderful. Found myself singing along and even played it in my car. Great find.
