So easy to install this wonderful gas fireplace remote
Wow! It took me all of 10 minutes to replace our old, on/off gas fireplace remote with this thermostat, timer, digital read out remote. A definite game changer. And my gas fireplace technician recommend recommended this as the most reliable.

Works great!
We bought this thermostat remote for our gas logs and it has been so convenient! My husband easily set this up and it works great. I love the thermostat feature where you can set the logs to come on and turn off automatically based off of the room temperature. We used that feature all winter long and it saved us money on our electric bill.

Works like the original one from the factory.
Matches the one that came with the fireplace. I only needed the remote, not the control box that came with, so my experience is limited. Easy to install the remote, works well

Works well
This remote works well and is much cheaper than the one that the place i bought the gas logs from sold me. Their expensive remote did not work, i took it back, got a refund, bought this one, saved money and now have a working remote. Setup was pretty easy.

worked well
i had exactly this unit on a 12 y/o Hearthstone fireplace. I couldn't get the original one to re-learn after changing batteries ( the batteries in there were corroded and it hadn't been used in years). I had the gas valves in place already so my install was easier. I installed batteries in new unit, held learn button in and then used remote. and this beeps and the older one i never recall it beeping, so the feedback is appreciated knowing that the two are linked. Then under the fireplace just removed connectors from tabs where the original was and then inserted two connectors provided (they are already screwed into the remote box) and it worked fine. The remote is great as its not IR based, so place it anywhere in room and I set the temperature and it turns stove on and off. It doesn't adjust flame though basically on/off only unless I missed something needed in the setup.

EXCELLENT PRODUCT!!
We bought our house in May, this was an existing product that was so old and beat up it just didn’t work anymore. The remote looked like it had been thru some “stuff”. lol I ordered another exact model, the 3101. Super easy install. It works PERFECTLY. If you have a hard time reading the wiring diagram, there are YouTube videos showing exactly what to do for the model you buy. I highly recommend just watching the YouTube video. Search “how to hook up skytech 3301 remote”. The written instructions can be confusing. This remote setup is fantastic!! If you fully set the remote up, you will save on propane. The remote turns your fireplace on and off and manages the heat. No regrets whatsoever.

Ultimate Geek!
Stumbled across this when a friend told me that there were remote controls for gas fireplaces. Was surprised to find a wide variety of controls available. Settled on this one for the thermostatic control and reasonable price and am very happy with it.Installation was downright simple. Just removed the standard light switch that controlled the fireplace and replaced it with the receiver unit and cover plate. The trickiest part of the installation was cutting down the 3 excess feet of wire that the builder left in the switch box to make room for the receiver which takes up most of the space in the box. A stripper/crimper tool comes in handy for that but a pocket knife works fine as well. You will need a tiny jeweler's screwdriver to remove the pigtail that's attached to the receiver and connect the existing wiring to it.I chose the grey switchplate with the integrated holder for the remote but might switch to the white one since I usually leave the remote on the coffee table anyway and the white one matches the rest of the cover plates in the room. Nice to have options though.Configuring the transmitter is simple; the directions are very clear. The only gripe, and it's a minor one, is that you have to remove the receiver from the switch box to change the batteries. Not a big deal since they supposedly only need to be changed once a year but it should not be too difficult to design it so that the batteries could be changed through the faceplate.Do read the instructions on how the remote operates. The first press of the button turns the fireplace on. The second press puts it in thermostat mode and the third press turns it off. I missed that and wound up leaving it on over the weekend while I was out of the house. Switching it off at the wall plate is a wise idea when the fireplace won't be used for a while, just to be safe.

Excellent product
The remote is very easy to install. I watched a YouTube video to do it. However, I did have to return it because it became obvious that the issue was not the old remote, but the fireplace itself. I would recommend this remote, though. It’s simple to install and connect.
