I ordered this to replace a very old one that belonged to my mother - it must be 40 years old but was still working. I thought I would try a more up to date tool especially as I find it difficult to open ring pull cans. It's good for this, but my original one is much much better at bottles and jars. It doesn't seem to get a good grip on the lids

I found these open too wide to grip properly. They slid around the lid when I tried opening a jar. I think I just don't have the strength or big enough hands to use these. I get pins and needles in my hands and not much strength in my arms and hands. Probably suit a person with a strong grip

Handy to have but not so good in gripping small bottles tops

As my arthritis has worsened in my thumbs this piece of equipment has been well worth it
