Even when its completely quiet there seems to be a tone that doesn’t quite go away. Overall it works, particularly with my iPad Pro, but when I do sound checks without it plugged in, the volume I get from my iPad on it’s own seems clearer. This lav is going to work for you if you have light background noise and you want to isolate your audio a bit, say for zoom calls. For the price you cant beat it but also take into consideration the length of the cable, the fact that it has to plug directly into the device your recording with, and how you intend to use it. Generally, you get more quality with price and microphones can get up there in price.

Returned the item as soon as i received and tried it out. what good is a mic that also records a high pitched hum every time?

The positives: they were easy to plug in and they came with a USB C to USB A adapter. The negatives: everything else. The sound quality was horrible - the built-in mic on my cell phone and webcam both picked up audio better from four feet away than this mic did clipped onto my shirt.

If you're using this mic, you can't hear the audio from your device. Did several trial runs, and ultimately, the mic in my phone worked better.

the microphone sent is nothing like portrayed in the photos. the item recieved doesn't have the side grills for "360" voice recording. very inferior product.
