Sand Beast
Great sander. Sanded a 20x40 deck several times with no problems. Debated about getting a more expensive variable speed unit. Glad I didn’t. I see no need for variable speed. My deck was painted. I tried sanding the paint off but that would have taken forever so I used Behr paint / stain stripper first. I applied a coat of stripper letting it soak for at least an hour misting it with hose water every 15 minutes to keep it damp. Next, I used a pressure washer to take off as much paint as possible then applied another coat and did the same procedure. I let the deck dry completely for a day then sanded with 40 grit to take off 90 % of remaining paint then 80 grit to take off the last of it while giving it a nice smooth ready to stain finish. I went through a 10 pack of each 40 grit and 80 grit. Could have used a few more of each but I was cooked. It was a ton of work that took about 5 days and tough on the back and knees but saved a ton of money. Do’s and dont’s…. Be sure to empty dust bag often. Canned air didn’t do much to clean it out, I used a leaf blower on the sander and on the desk, Don’t bother unzipping the bag just empty it from the other end.i don’t think that zipper will hold up long. The dust bag worked well but I wore a dust mask anyway as there is still some dust floating in the air. Don’t sand over a leaf like I did. It will clog up the sander. Took a little while to clean it out. Also don’t run over the power cord like I told myself not to do but did anyway. It mangled the cord and got seriously stuck in the sander. Now I have to cut off the cord about a foot from the sander and install a new plug so my sander will now have just a foot long power cord. Doh! Oh well it will match my circular saw whose cord is also very short from when I cut it off with the saw lol.

Highly Efficient and Affordable. Great for Large Surface Sanding
I recently purchased the WEN 6321 3” x 21” Belt Sander and have been very impressed with how simple and effective it is. Right out of the box, it’s easy to use and requires very little setup, which makes it ideal for both beginners and experienced users. What stood out most to me is how quickly it sands large areas. Whether I’m smoothing rough plywood, removing old finishes, or prepping wide boards, it handles the job efficiently and saves a lot of time compared to other sanders I’ve used. The build quality is solid for the price, and it feels comfortable to hold during longer sanding sessions. It doesn’t have a lot of extra features, but that’s part of what makes it great—there’s nothing unnecessary getting in the way. The dust collection isn’t perfect, and the included sanding belt wore out fairly quickly, but those are minor issues considering how affordable this tool is. For the price point, I honestly didn’t expect this level of performance. It’s a great value for anyone who needs a reliable belt sander for home projects, woodworking, or general surface prep. I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a no-fuss tool that gets the job done.

Good sander
Good sander and good price. This sander was a fantastic buy and save alot of time doing the initial sanding of large surfaces like table tops which is what ive been using it for. It works well for blending in Ridgelines left over from small imperfections during glue ups. The sander seems to have good power and will quickly sand red oak. The ergonomics are comfortable and make it easy to control the tool. The dust collection is a little odd with the sqare port and bag. The dust collection bag is quite cheap and alot of small particles will get blown from the bag while the sander is being used. With the square port it would be difficult to attach a vacuum. My other complaint is that the tool is extremely loud. Overall this tool works well and was a good price for something I dont use a whole lot but it's nice to have for some situations. I think wen makes pretty solid tools for their price point and I have yet to be disappointed by any of my other wen tools.

A REALLY nice belt sander.
I am not a pro, but I needed this to sand down about 7 - 3ft boards for a wedding. I flipped this over and set it outside on a flat surface and moved the boards around on top of it. It worked really well. It has an adjustment to move the belt left and right. It was worth the price. I thought is was very powerful for the money.

Works very well...good tool so far!
Got this model because of price, motor amperage and weight. Those factors all prove to be worthy of the purchase, for my use. Here's the project I need it for; I have about 25 feet of 4x12 girder to sand (both sides) so that I can apply a insecticide treatment to prevent powder post beetles from doing more damage. They have been laying eggs on the wood and the larvae bore deep holes into it. I have a coat of good outdoor paint on the wood, but that does not prevent these little buggers from doing their thing. The trouble with this job is that the girder is up hi and horizontal, so I need to stand on a ladder and hold the sander up at head level to do the work. A heavy sander would be terrible for this job. I first borrowed a friends 4.5 amp Skill belt sander, but it was wimpy with such slow speed, it took a long time to do a short area. The WEN spins much faster and removes the paint easily. I was able to finish half the work in an hour last night. It's still a tedious chore, up and down the ladder and holding my arms up high while exerting force, but the WEN never bogged down. I had to adjust the tracking a few times, but that was fairly stable. Overall the unit works quite well. I bought 4 coarse belts, but I think 1 will do the whole job and still be good for more.

The cooling fan got chipped and then disintegrated as soon as I turned it on and adjusted the belt for the first time. I had purchased this same model from another shop and the same thing happened. I initially thought it was my bad luck in the first instance, but it happened a second time. So the problem likely lies in the seller or their stock of the product itself is faulty. I returned the product and received the refund from the seller.

It's a solid tool although it's not particularly light; on the other hand, it has a lot of power for its size. I use it a lot. The belt tracks quite well.

I bought this belt sander because I needed to strip the paint from my front deck prior to repainting. This is an excellent little unit and served my purposes well. I pressure washed the deck to make sure it was free of any debris. I found that putting on and taking off belts was straightforward and very easy. I did get a jam one time when a belt broke, but that was because I hit the top of a screw and it tore the belt. I used 40 and 80 grit sanding belts depending on what I was stripping. I have enclosed a picture before I started a section of the deck and then a picture after about half an hour. The sander did a very good job. There is only one speed, so no variable speed sanding. For the price this is a fantastic little belt sander. I would highly recommend it for jobs around the house.
