I have a 65 gallon aquarium for 2 sliders. How often should I change this filter?

Hey Wendytime, Thanks for your question. As a general rule, we recommend you that you change the filter cartridges every 6-8 weeks. However, sliders generate more waste than fish and as a result, you should change the media more often. Your tank conditions will dictate how often they should be changed, but figure around every 3-4 weeks.

How do i know when the filters are spent? I had an algae bloom and changed mine out probably too quickly to try control it.

I rinse mine and use them until they begin to fall apart. But I also keep a new set in case of RIP or tear. I love these filters.
