A great product for Red Wing work boots and shoes.
This went onto my son's work boots easily. Looks great. Cleaned the shoes too. Waterproofed them too i do believe. EIter way, this is a great product and i will be getting more.

Fantastic Product!
I started with the Red Wing Foaming Leather Cleaner and then used this product, the Red Wing Heritage Mink Oil, on my women's Classic Moc. As you can see from the photos, they were absolutely filthy—I hadn't treated them once in the year I owned them (oops). This product brought them back to life and cleaned them up beautifully! It did darken the leather, but I knew this would happen and was ok with it. That said, I let them sit a few days after treatment and they magically morphed back to the original color (not entirely, but pretty close). If you're concerned and don't want to chance it, try Red Wing Heritage Leather Cream—this product is supposed to maintain the color of the leather, but I can't confirm as I have yet to use it. *Note: I applied three layers, allowing a little drying time after each.

It's a true miracle!
This stuff is amazing! Unbelievable really. First, this pair of boots is over 30 years old and has been totally abused and neglected for the last 15 years of their lives. Never treated, left in the sun for days, used to wade in the river while fishing for years and never cleaned or treated then. In, fact I was going to throw them away if they ever got to the point where they ripped or were unserviceable, but they hung in there the best they could. Probably says a lot about Redwing boots, too. Anyway, I thought I'd give this mink oil a shot at what I thought was a hopeless recovery situation before I tossed them. To my utter astonishment and delight, this product converted my ultra dry, extremely stiff, almost brittle leather boots back into to soft, pliable, comfortable and water resistant boots again! I wouldn't have believed that would have been possible if I hadn't seen it with my own eyes. It's really unbelievable. I can't imagine how long your boots would last if you used this stuff on them once a year.

Amazing but
Smells amazing and good at keeping leather healthy and hydrated but it does have synthetic compounds in the oil. Usually not a huge deal but be careful using it on higher end boots as it could eventually clog up the pores in the leather not letting in other hydrating oils. If it's a problem the red wing conditioner is a slightly better option.

Worked for my Clark's desert boots
Worked well for my Clark's desert boots in beeswax. Was on the fence about tossing my boots but decided to clean and oil my boots. Glad I did. After using the Lincoln cleaner and letting dry for a day or two I rubbed in this oil. Left my boots darker with a slight luster but did the trick. Leaves the boots looking close to new considering I've had my boots for about 2 years without cleaning or maintenance of any kind. Little goes a long way. I think I could arrive my boots a good 5 or 6 more times with this can. Make sure to rub in circular motion with a soft cloth or old t-shirt. Wipe off any excess left on the boots, especially in the creases so it doesn't dry and leave a build up.

This stuff is pretty incredible
It's my first time using anything to spruce up leather, and I'm really impressed by this mink oil. It brought some little Coach booties back to life that I found on poshmark. I used saddle soap first to clean off and buff the initial surface scratches, dirt, and wrinkles, then applied this oil, and man, what a difference! It turned the leather a beautiful whiskey color that I never would have anticipated, and looks healthy and moisturized! I'm looking forward to seeing how it looks once the color fades a bit, but I'm already really impressed by how well this mink oil performs. I used it on another pair of booties--black ones--and the results weren't as obvious, but the deep creases and scrapes have pretty much disappeared, with just one coat of the mink oil! Definitely invest in this stuff, you won't regret it.

Does the job
I have Red Wing 406's, which are water proof work style boots in a brown color. Because they are the waterproof kind, I needed to find a product that would keep the waterproofing and treat the leather. There are many different products out there, but in general I do like to stick to the manufacturer's stuff and red wing does indeed have a excellent rep. I applied this product using a cut up kitchen sponge working it into the leather and especially getting it into the seams. To finish both shoes it took about 15 - 20 min. You don't use very much of the product, so one jar should last quite a long time, probably the life of the shoe if you treat them once every 3 months, but that depends on how hard you are on the shoe. I did let them sit for 24 hours before I wore them again. I did wear them during a recent rain and no water got in the shoe, and the water that landed on the shoe didn't sink into the leather, so the stuff does keep the water out. One comment is that the mink oil did darken the shoes a decent amount, but they are slowly lightening back to the original color expecially in the areas that the leather is flexing. I don't think that the darker color is bad, the shoes look great in dark or med shade of brown, so its not a negative for me, but something for you to know. The price of the product is on par with like products, I would use it on any work type boot for waterproofing and treating the leather.
