HAPPY CAMPER!
My rear sight is very close to my RMR so I had to trim the thickness on the back of the cover next to my rear sight. I used a burr in my Dremel tool and it worked perfect to thin the plastic to a proper fit. A bit expensive in my opinion but does what its designed for and would buy again. If you think your going to purchase this cover and use your red dot, think again. Its not designed for that application or even implied that it is. Its a protective cover only, and does a good job for what its designed for on my RMR.

Excellent for protecting your RMR!
For protecting your RMR this would be hard to beat. It attaches firmly and keeps the lens dirt and dust free. I bought one for each of my RMRs and hope they come out with the pro model.

Meh... Go ahead and get one.
As others have said, this is a so/so product in terms of functionality of design. It is much darker than it probably should be, and the slanted rear creates a rainbow effect on your dot. This rear design flaw also causes a horrible reflection when out in direct sunlight. It is a very hard/thick plastic. I have no doubt that it will protect my RMR, but with it being so thick, it completely obscures my front sight. Also it is nearly impossible to remove by hand. The rear sight on my M&P Pro CORE makes this a very tight fit, and it is impossible to use the rear lip of the cover to pull it off. I have had to pry mine off with a knife several times. There is very little give on the sides to adjust your RMR (if you have an adjustable RM06/07), which can make turning it off a little hard. The main reason I got this was primarily to protect my gun in storage and carrying it to/from the range. I may use it to shoot with, but I'm going to have to wait and see if I have any brass get deflected onto the glass of my RMR. I did make a modification that solves some of the issues, by cutting off that rear slanted piece of plastic. This still protects the front from flying brass, but allows me to see through the rear. I have to be honest, this or a scopecoat cover is all that's out there, so pickin's are pretty slim in terms of protection for your RMR. All in all, for the price it's worth seeing if it will work for you, but don't get your hopes up. Plus lets be honest... After shelling out $500+ on your new Trijicon, what's $12 more? I added some before/after pics of hacking that rear piece off. I wish I had taken some pics of how horrible it was before I cut it up. At least this gives you an idea of how dark and distorted the plastic is.

JUST A COVER.... duh
LOL... people actually think your rmr will be functional with this protective cap on top. I know... it says transparent, that doesn’t mean it can stay on while shooting LOL!!! Stop giving this thing bad reviews because you can’t see your dot when it’s installed. The trijicon rmr is one of the toughest red dots in the industry, it doesn’t need a cover on it when you shoot it! This is for protection while being transported or (most likely in all these bad reviewers cases) sitting in their closets or 30 dollar Walmart safe collecting dust. The rmr is made for hard use stop trying to protect it from getting scratched when your shooting it. Thes cover fits in perfectly and stays on during transport or storage. Great product.P.S.if your new to shooting or the ar world don’t listen to these threeper bubba amazon reviews.

Works at what I intended it to do, but not so much as advertised
I bought this cover specifically as a shell to provide some protection for the RMR I fitted it to. In this regard it works very well, keeping the glass of the reflex Trijicon unit relatively safe from damage. With this need I'm satisfied with the effectiveness of this device. That being said it should be pointed out that as a 24/7 operational cover it's not all that useful. The cover's smoked transparency is extremely obscured and although I can see the red dot of the RMR when the unit is on, the resultant sight picture through the cover is next to useless. The unit is made from a relatively rigid plastic, not all that different from the sort of material many smartphone cases are made from. Although it's somewhat pliable the amount of stiffness makes removal of the cover difficult, and given how poorly 'transparent' this cover is, removal IS a must. Turning the RMR on and off (this one is battery-powered) is also made more difficult with the cover in place; a lot of pressure put on the cover over the control switches is absolutely mandatory in order to make them work as they should. As shipped the cover snaps firmly into place and gets its death grip on the optic due to two opposing nubs molded into the sides of the cover that slip into the corresponding holes on the flanks of the RMR; it's these nubs that make the removal process more difficult than it should be for quick access and operation of the optic beneath it.Fortunately the fix for this is relatively easy, courtesy of any reasonably sharp bladed knife. Using a snap-blade utility knife, removing both nubs took less than 30 seconds and the resultant fit after the modification is still snug and positive. Moreover, Strike provides a molded hole to allow for the tethering of the cover to your firearm or mount, which works well with a bit of black monofilament fishing line looped and tied off through a convenient roll pin on the QD lever of my American Defense RMR mount (fortunately located on the left side, away from the ejection port of the rifle the optic is mounted on). Access is quick and I don't have to worry about losing the cover.

Because it was horrible. I installed it on my Trijicon RMR RM07
When I received this product, I asked myself, I wonder if the product designer has ever installed it on a red dot product and looked at it. Because it was horrible. I installed it on my Trijicon RMR RM07. It made the RMR unusable. It creates a lot of optical distortion. One dot turns into several. I will admit, I expected that based upon other reviews. I did what another reviewer did and removed the rear portion of the cover. Then it was acceptable. My goal with the JellyFish was to protect the front of my RMR when I go to sight it in. The handgun it is going on has a reputation of throwing brass at the optic. In conclusion, I would give this product a 1 for its intended use and a 4 for the use I purchased it for.
