Nice and sharp
I used this to prune a tall apple tree and found it very effective. The sharp blades made it a breeze to cut through branches upto nearly 4cm in diameter. The cord is easy to pull, although it does occasionally get entangled in the branches. Due to it's length it does take a little bit of strength to use, although it is much lighter than it would be if it had a metal pole. Possible improvements to expand it's functionality would be for the pruning head to be able to tilt to different angles, as the orientation makes it difficult to prune high branches that are completely vertical. Another improvement would be for the pruning saw to have an optional short handle, as it is a really good saw and it is a shame not to be able to use it easily for close up work. Overall I am pleased with my purchase from this reputable brand.

Almost Perfect
This does the job nicely - chopping branches (even those quite high) is simple task with the cord puller and slices neatly through some quite thick branches. The only drawback is the saw blade; this is quite flimsy and does not work if you're trying to cut mid-branch - it just wobbles from side to side which is the reason I didn't give it 5 stars. If, however, you cut close to the main trunk, it works OK - just make sure you are wearing eye protection and keep your mouth closed :D Otherwise, an excellent tool!

Better than a strimmer
This shears gets really high and is very easy to use. Was able to trim trees at 4m from a ladder safely and without all the noise of a hedge cutter. The blades are wicked sharp, making light work of reasonable branches. Every garden should have one. Especially at the price paid.

wow! Worked perfectly, strong and cut through small and medium branches easily.
Haven't tried the saw yet, as didn't need it as the secateur motion cut through even medium branches like a knife through butter. Extends easily so has a good reach. sturdy and well made. Very good price for a well known brand, very pleased with it!

Effective
I have to say these pruners exceeded my expectations. They’re simple enough to use and not too heavy if you’re older (I’m 70). They’re nice and sharp and cut through pretty thick branches. The extension function is a bit tricky to get used to, sometimes the lock works straight away and other times it is more difficult to get it locked, however once it is locked in place it holds firm. On the whole though I think it was a good buy and as i’ll probably only use them three or four times a year I will put up with the tricky bits and the stiff neck after using them - looking up all the time. Just as an after thought, be careful of falling branches landing in you face and on your head!

Good reach for tricky branches.
This is used for basic pruning of various fruit trees. I'm a small female and you do have to bear in mind that using these is heavy on the arms than you might think. This is lighter than my last one however. It's top heavy at full extension so be careful with balancing yourself if you are of a similar stature. Cuts through branches like butter, including ones a bit thicker than the advertised branch width. It came ready assembled for use as a looper - you just need to tighten a couple of screws and unravel the elastic bands that are holding the rope in a neat bundle. The saw attachment is unattached and in the packaging. I haven't needed to use that. The main difficulty with using this is not unique to this model - you can get the rope snagged in twigs as you try to reach the one you want. It takes patience and a little time to get used to manoeuvring something that long, you need room behind you to change direction which isn't always easy in a closely planted garden. But you get the hang of it. I've deducted one star because I found the twisting mechanism to open the telescopic handle up to full length was very stiff at first. I couldn't only get it open with someone else holding the end and turning it in the other direction. Now it's been up and down a few times that's not a problem, and the handle hadn't collapsed down when I don't want it to. There's a sticker on it which tells you which way to twist in order to extend the handle. The other way locks it - always give it an extra turn as it needs more than you think to lock properly. Overall it's made my life easier.

No issues, easy work
I haven't yet tried the saw, as I purchased this mostly as a secateur. It’s helped me cut some pretty thick branches that were too high for me to reach on my own. It's indeed razor-sharp! I didn't need to put any effort; it went very smoothly.

Practical and light weight tree pruner.
This was a gift for someone else, so I have not used it myself. From the video accompanying the advertisement before I bought it, the tree pruner looks very versatile and easy to use, particularly because of its lightness to handle.Light

For the money this is pretty good. The twist lock for the length can be a little bit too easy to move and release at times but overall it is value for money and enabled me to do the job needed without too much expense.

This has been an awesome pruner for a 5'3" petite gal. Amazing reach on it and the saw pruner also works very well for the thicker branches. I do most of the tree trimming on our 3 acres of trees here in Texas. This has made quick work for me and I'm very pleased with this tool!

I have seen what others said about the plastic part that broke, but mine had astrong steel part there, so I'm guessing they improved it. There's NO way now! Anyway, I've tried to find a good tree trimmer for years, that can reach those high branches, and this one is great! It's fairly lightweight, and once you hook onto the branch you're cutting, the weight doesn't matter, the branch holds it. Then you pull the silky smooth rope/pulley device, so easy peasy, and the razor sharp blade cuts through 5/8" with total ease. The only thing to watch out for is that big neatly cut branch coming down fast! There were also people that said the locking mechanism for the pole extension comes loose while using, but for me, that happened once because I twisted the pole (which unlocks it) while it was hooked on a branch, totally my fault. I learned not to do that! Then no further problems. Also, make sure that your rope always stays in perfect alignment with the pulley at the top, if you accidentally get it on the other side of a limb or into the leaves, it can't pull smoothly. Really, though, unless this breaks early, I'm going to marry it! I'm now a 70 year old woman who can prune her maple tree with ease! LOVE IT!!!
