A good digital hour meter for my mini excavator.
I purchased a mini-excavator at auction that someone had left the key on, so it accumulated about 200 hours on an analog meter. I wanted to replace it with something of better quality. This has worked flawless for the first 3.5 hours of use, and I like the fact the display is always on, even when the machine is off. When it gets power from the machine, it shows an hour glass symbol on the display to let you know it is accumulating time. If it lasts, I'll be very pleased with this meter. If it fails, I will update this review.

Working aok so far after 5.6 hrs....
I'm a retired electrician, but anyone who's not electrically savvy isn't going to be helped by their lack of instructions. I didn't rate it's accuracy, since I haven't sat round with a timer to test it - I bought the unit to clock the gas valve on my furnace to determine percentage of gas used buy it, vs my other gas appliances. If it holds up for at least a few years, I'll try to remember to return and update the rating. (I noticed someone complained that theirs died after a short time. That could make or break the whole rating.)

Only three years lifetime?
As others have noted, this is a fine and inexpensive meter. But mine just failed after three years. I installed it in 2023 on my John Deere lawn tractor. I really liked it. But just in the past couple of days the screen faded out. Thinking that perhaps there was a wiring problem, I did a complete electrical check. No luck. I even temporarily wired it directly to the battery just to make sure. The dang thing is dead. I'm still planning on purchasing another one and hopefully it'll last longer than three years & 150 hrs operating time.

Working well
Bought for lawn mower. I've had a couple of them fail from getting wet. Hopefully this one holds up. So far, so good.
