Helped us setup our Simply Safe doorbell. It was simple to do and we’ve had no issues.

This is the one! Solves the Doorbell Pro issue.
OhmKat finally figured out and solved this video doorbell issue that has plagued many people trying to power their doorbell. I installed this one and it is working well. A bit more info: Before this one, I used a different transformer that was rated correctly and should have worked with the video doorbell pro. In fact it did work for awhile, but at some point it stopped working, and I think it may have even burned out my doorbell. The voltage on the other transformer was just a bit higher than on the OhmKat, and should have worked, but it didn't. When I researched this issue, I found that many other people have had similar issues, but NOT with the OhmKat! So, this is the one I highly recommend. I don't use the connector that allows you to add a wireless doorbell, but I think it is a super useful feature because the addition of a wireless doorbell is needed in most cases. In my case, since I already had the other transformer wired up to my video doorbell pro, I actually just cut the old transformer wires and spliced this OhmKat wires to them. It worked quite well and kept me from having the re-run the wires through my wall to the video doorbell. Note: If you are like me and you were using something other than the OhmKat, and your video doorbell stopped working, then you may need to get a new/replacement video doorbell along with the OhmKat to get it to work again. It seems that the other set-ups tend to somehow burn out, and the OhmKat does not.

Works like a charm.
Ordered this last night for overnight delivery. Got up and it was here, so, good job on that for sure. The last folks that owned my house cut out the existing doorbell for some reason and I wasn’t looking forward to running new wires and installing all the equipment. I went to Amazon to look for a doorbell transformer and it suggested the OhmKat plug. Got it installed in just a few minutes, it’s really easy. It just plugs to an existing outlet. Doorbell came right up. I set it up with my SimpliSafe base station and it works like a charm. I would definitely recommend this to anyone with a SimpliSafe alarm system that doesn’t have existing wires to the doorbell.

Works great
My 1950s home has never had a doorbell. With a little bit of effort to run the power cable for this into the garage, it let me install my SimpliSafe doorbell camera. I wish the power cable was a few feet longer to ease installation for challenging runs, but otherwise a great device.

Worked as advertized.
It was the second power adapter I bought for my Simplisafe doorbell. The first one indicated in the description that it would work fine. This one powered my doorbell as intended.

Worked like a charm.
Worked perfectly for SimpliSafe door bell. -Installation was easy: you just wrap exposed leads around the posts and plug the cord into the charger. -Plenty of cord length -Charger can disconnect from the end cord that plugs into SimpliSafe. It is nice for install. You need to thread the wires between a hole in the wall attachment. It makes it much easier. Also lets you test the location. Only down side is that there is no easy space for the wires to exit if you don't have a recess in the wall. The positive and negative leads are separate wires and wrapped in insulation. I didn't feel you you could easily strip it. You only have about 1-2", which is just enough room to snake them out the side. This seems more a Simplisafe door bell issue than OhmKat because the bell does not have a side egress. It wasn't a perfectly flush mount, but i worked. Just FYI. It does not allow for a doorbell chime and audible doorbell chime in the house. It powers the camera.

Fried my SimpliSafe Camera Doorbell
Plugged in my doorbell to USB-C, got it setup, all was good, then discovered it was a wired-only doorbell. Because... why would SimpliSafe offer a wireless doorbell, or even a battery pack, when almost all the rest of their offerings are wireless? Insanity, I know. Anyway, not interested in the bill to "properly" install this, I came across this allegedly compatible transformer plug. Neat. That should work, and if it doesn't, then I'd figure something else out, I thought. Only, not only did it not work, it KILLED MY DOORBELL. I got it wired up, and my doorbell gave a single blink indicating it was receiving power, then nothing. I tried to connect to it, and nothing. I tried a few different things, but there's only so much you can do with two wires and a disconnect. I tried plugging it back into USB-C like I did with the setup, that had been repeatedly successful before, and now... nothing. No indication of power and no response. So, my $35 "SURGE PROTECTED," "SIMPLISAFE COMPATIBLE," "SHORT-DETECTING," transformer plug, fried my $170 camera doorbell. Oh, and since it's not SimpliSafe's issue, I can't do jack regarding warranty replacement. I love being out $200 because of garbage like this. Learn from my mistake. If you're going to go this route, find a transformer plug that works.
