Happy cows - we use only organic grass fed cows milk Full support along your journey to gut health INSTRUCTIONS PREPARE THE MILK 1000ml pasteurized milk (whole milk works best). Boil and allow it to cool back down to room temperature before use. Do not use hot milk with the starter culture. Always cool it down after boiling. MIX IN THE STARTER Fill a jug with 1000ml of boiled and cooled milk. Stir the yoghurt starter into the milk thoroughly (but gently). A whisk works nicely for this. HEAT MIXTURE IN YOGHURT MAKER Pour the mixture into your yoghurt maker jar/pots and heat the yoghurt at 42 degrees Celsius for 10 hours (or until set). If not set after 10 hours, continue in the yoghurt maker, checking every 2 hours. It may take up to 18 hours to fully set. Please be patient. For Skyr consistency, strain the yoghurt through a fine sieve lined with cheesecloth, a coffee filter, or a plain white paper towel over a bowl. REFRIGERATE Refrigerate and let it drain for 8-12 hours. Always reserve enough yoghurt to re-culture the next batch. Use approximately one tablespoon of culture per 1000ml of milk. Re-culture from fresh yoghurt no older than 7 days for best results. This is an heirloom yoghurt that can be re-cultured indefinitely.

Review: Second time lucky - Had great success with the Greek yoghurt starter and have made gallons of the stuff. The first try at the Skyr yoghurt was a disaster, it just didn’t set. The seller kindly sent me a replacement. The first go you really need to leave it a lot longer than you think, in fact 18 to 24 hours, however Oh my word it’s so worth the wait, once strained you get the thickest most delicious Icelandic yoghurt and believe me I have eaten Icelandic yoghurt in Iceland and this compares very favourably. My advice, be patient, it’s worth it. Great seller too.

Sorry I wish I could send back for refund but product used.

Had great success with the Greek yoghurt starter and have made gallons of the stuff. The first try at the Skyr yoghurt was a disaster, it just didn’t set. The seller kindly sent me a replacement. The first go you really need to leave it a lot longer than you think, in fact 18 to 24 hours, however Oh my word it’s so worth the wait, once strained you get the thickest most delicious Icelandic yoghurt and believe me I have eaten Icelandic yoghurt in Iceland and this compares very favourably. My advice, be patient, it’s worth it. Great seller too.
