Easy and inexpensive
I’m brand new to FO and bought this set to use in JinHao diversity set. Everything works great, no leaking. I “prime” the nib by sucking up a small amount of water using the converter, then install a cartridge. It still takes a bit of scrawling to get ink to flow, but not too bad. I appreciate the lighter, sheer value of the ink because other pens I have write really heavily and this gives me an option to use on lighter paper.

Great Value!
Overall great value. I bought these to work with my Jinhao 250 pens to add some variety without having to buy a lot of ink I probably won't use anytime soon. I'll agree, the green isn't the best. The one thing I didn't see mentioned is the boxes are not marked with the color so you really have to look closely at the brown and the blue in low lighting. I only mention it because it looks like there are two boxes of black which you may or may not need. It makes sense, though since that's usually the preferred color. I'm happy. The red works really really well-a nice bright, crisp red and the same for the purple. Don't really have a use for the other colors at the moment. NOTE: I may have changed my mind about the green. This is on a soft, cheap paper. It seems to like the glossier, less absorbent papers better. Here is a sample. IMO, green isn't one of those colors often used for every day writing, at least not for me. Enjoy!

Excellent flow and saturation.
The reason I am giving it 4 stars is that there are too many blacks in this combination. I like colored ink and just did not realize there were so many blacks in the group. The ink is really nice. Flows well and the saturation is excellent. I probably will buy cartridges with the same colors I like from now on but this let me try a couple of inks for my new Jinhao X450 fountain pens that I really love. Try the fine point nib too.

Nice Ink Cartridges
Tiny cartridges that are easily to install in your fountain pen. The 2 shades of blue are very similar. There isnt enough contrast between them to justify 2 shades of blue. Other than that, the other shades are nice. My ink was not dried up. It flows very nicely through my pen. Overall, great product!

Found out there's a trick to loading these.
Very fast shipping. Cartridges are indeed international size, so make sure they'll fit your pen. The first one I tried to load didn't want to go in, so I tried poking the bearing out with a fork and it took quite a bit of force. I cracked the seal and tried again and it worked fine. I also realized that the top is a little smaller than your average cartridge of this size. The opening is the same size but the surrounding plastic is smaller. This makes it easy to miss the spot when putting it in your pen. So between missing and the bearing being stuck it was hard to load normally, but after poking the bearing out it works fine. That's the trick. Results may vary.

Smooth, steady light pressure ink flow.
Beautiful, smooth flowing lovely color. It seems they hold more ink or last a bit longer than the "thorton" brand of assorted color pack. i also bought to try. (The thorton's stop and start in flow somehow, and do not last for as many pages of writing. I will definitely purchase THESE again over the Thorton assorted color. I also like the slimmer tip that tapers out to the length. This loads and clicks into place smoothly and with less "force" than required in other brand cartridges. I am brand new to calligraphy, and really was becoming frusterated with learning using the Thorton brand. Upon switching to these, the flow was remarkably different, enabling a smooth steady writing flow with much lighter pressure to the "nib" and making my learning experience much less frusterating. I guess all inks are NOT related equal? Lol.

Average ink, just be sure it will fit your pen.
I purchased this set with the intention of having one fountain pen for each color so that I could switch as needed. I intend to use them with 8 PCS Jinhao 599 Fountain Pens Diversity Set Transparent and Unique...

Cheap And There's a Reason
I enjoy messing with inexpensive to rather pricey fountain pens. Thought I'd see just how cheap you can go so I bought the eight piece Jinhao 599 Fountain Pens Diversity Set. I mean, how good could they possibly be for about a buck thirty-five delivered? So now I need some equally dirt cheap cartridges. Right there, next to the pens, Amazon says that others frequently buy a Gullor 35 PCS International Size Pen Cartridge to Fit Jinhao Fountain Pens. How good (or bad) could they possibly be, resplendent in their seven beautiful colors, for $8.70 (only a quarter a pop)? I would have come out ahead lighting a five dollar bill and four ones on fire. It would have saved me considerable time and would have avoided 35 ink cartridges adding to our nations landfill. That ball does not move folks. Expecting the little probe in the pen to move it is pure folly. Pressing it with the head of a small finishing nail and my fingers and then eventually pliers did not dislodge it. I'm 6'2", 225 lbs and in pretty good shape and couldn't budge the sucker. I eventually got the ball loose by putting the cartridge in a vise, the head of the finishing nail on the ball and a smart whack with a medium hammer. Of course this was a rather empty victory as I had previously cut the other end off and drained the ink out - did you really think I was that stupid? - I'm big but not dumb. So the cartridges are all in the trash. Fortunately the Jinhao pens came with converters so I inked a couple and they actually work. Pretty wet and would never make it as my EDC (that's pen speak for every day carry) but they do put ink on paper for less than 10% of a real Safari. The cartridges however, at about half what Pilot cartridges cost aren't such a good deal. Every day I'll give thanks that I can afford real pens but if all you've got is a buck and a half the Jinhao pen will work. I would suggest you try to steal some ink rather than buying the Gullor 35 PCS cartridges.
