Finally a collar that let's me walk my enthusastic/stubborn dog
I have tried 3 other style of collars with my dog that did not work well for me, my dog, or both of us. A regular neck collar was not secure enough, choked my dog, and did nothing to keep my dog from pulling during the entire walk. This was incredibly uncomfortable and fatiguing to my arms. I then tried a simple rope loop collar, but this was worse as it also choked my dog while digging into my hands (although it was more secure).I then purchased a gentle leader collar that goes around the neck and has a muzzle loop that the leash attaches too. This worked a lot better as my dog could not pull hard on the lead without jerking his head around. This provided the security, and the arm relief that I needed, but my dog HATED IT and would constantly stop during the walk and try to pull it off his muzzle. He would also step over the leash when he lowered his head to sniff as he walked. The leash attaches to the lead under his muzzle, which would interrupt the walk as I re-routed the leash to avoid chaffing. I used this collar for about 2 years until I discovered this collar. This collar suffers from none of the problem of the prior collar/leashes. My dog does not step over the leash as it is attached behind his head. He cannot pull hard as the collar applies a corrective force that stops him, without choking or jerking of the head. Is is neither uncomfortable to him or I. My dog still does not like the feeling of the muzzle portion, but it's a huge improvement as he only picks at it at few times during the walk instead of constantly. The collar seems to be of exceptional quality. The material (nylon?) appears to be durable, with double rows of stitching, and eyelets are metal. The collar is a little difficult to setup at first, but then becomes easy to use.Note that you cannot use this with a long leash or retractable lead. If you relax too much pressure the muzzle loop will droop and slip off. That said, within a few minutes we both adjusted our walk style and I found it to be highly effective at controlling my dog without causing discomfort for either of us. My 14 year old child was able to get the hang of it after about 10 minutes.I would recommend this collar to anyone looking for a solution to walking a "spirited" dog. My dogs neck was right between 2 sizes, so I went with the recommended smaller size, and it fits perfectly.

I tried the Gentle Leader collar before this one, and there is no comparison!
The Canny Collar is awesome! It is very high quality, durable, and comfortable. My dog was not a fan at first, but I persuaded him with lots of treats for about two weeks every time that we used it for walks. I can now walk him with one finger, and now I do not have to worry about my shoulder being dislocated when he sees a squirrel.

Effective and Humane
So far as I can tell, this is the most effective training device I've found for my 130-lb Golden. He's 6 years old and is an incredibly strong dog who loves to try to greet every animal and human he comes across.Nothing has worked quite so well as this collar in keeping him under control when we're out walking (full disclosure: as of late, we haven't walked in any busy areas with the collar on - I will update as soon as that happens). I've tried a Halti which he pawed off within seconds. I've tried a Gentle Leader which only kind of worked (it took him longer to get it off, but because it fastens under the chin it took just a few tries).I have been walking him on an Easy Walk harness, which slows him down somewhat, and it does keep him from stopping to get it off every few feet (as with the head harness), but because it still allows his head to go every which way, it's often still difficult to walk him. I have had to tire him out with a vigorous game of fetch before even thinking of walking him, up to now.I like the Canny Collar because it's much easier to use and more effective. It loosens up when he's not pulling, and because it fastens behind his head, there's nothing he can do to get it off his snout. I feel more secure when we're out walking because I know he's not going to catch me off balance with his pulling, plus my hand isn't sore from the death grip I have to keep on the leash otherwise. He hates it when I put it on and he spends a good 10-15 minutes of the walk dropping his head to try to remove it, or stopping dead when he can't. We're working on it though, and he'll just have to get used to it if he wants to go for walks!

Best design of these gentle leads!
I think my girl's face says it all! I can not say enough good things about this! I have tried many versions of these gentle leaders and this one is by far the BEST design. After reading comments the thing I saw coming up alot was not liking the yellow loop that sits on the bottom of the neck. There were a lot of reviews saying that it wasnt tight enough and that the dog was able to slip out of it because of this.....NOT TRUE. I literally thinks it's way better than the traditional one that locks into place. My girl was able to have the full 5 feet of her leash with no tension in it and it never got loose enough. That's actually probably my fav part about it. Its loose when the dog is behaving and is right there to tighten up to get their attention when you need to. I also love that it clips in the back instead of under the chin, I feel way more secure with it that way. Also it's a quick on and off so it's there when u need it and it comes with clasps to wrap the extra lead when the dog doesnt need it. I find that really helpful when I take her places and were just chilling somewhere so she can have a quick break from it. Another thing that I was a little nervous about was that it doesnt have padding over the bridge of the nose. I found d with other designs it would irritate her nose and make her fur weird. But with this one it's not locked into place on her snout so that problem is solved too. Not to mention it comes in colors so it looks less intimidating. Like I said LOVE this!

Design flaw?
I was super excited to try this collar with my young dog who pulls like a steam engine. I lost my halti collar in a move, and I thought this looked like a better option. The problem is that when there is no tension in the leash, it falls off the dog! There is no stop to keep it from loosening. My pup figured this out pretty quickly and ducks out of as often as possible. It is also a but of a pain to get the nose loop back on once it falls off.I measured my dog per the instructions, so the size should be correct. I would return this if I hadn’t thrown out the packaging.

Brilliant! Thank you so much.
This is a fantastic collar. We have literally tried EVERYTHING with our labrador who was not trained as a puppy to walk on a lead and will pull constantly. Nothing else has worked over the years and otger halties and chokers etc have just irratated her oe been ineffective. This collar has been a game changer for us! I can't recommend it highly enough. Thank you so much!

looks good
Just arrived, looks well built sturdy, hopefully hanks last collar, it's adjustable so as he grows (10 months 12.5 stone) it will still fit.Looks less ominous than some we've tried (they look like muzzles )
