I Spy Lightning in the Sky (Scholastic Reader, Level 1)

Love that these take eye spy classics and scale them down for young kids. My 2.5 year old daughter LOVES these books! While she can’t actually read them independently she talks about the pictures she sees. We spend a lot of time just soaking up the details on each page and developing her language skills! Awesome book!

All of the I-Spy books are great, but these Level 1 books are great for teaching matching skills to youngsters. The pictures are depicted just like they are found on the following page so that the kids can find them easily. Then, for older kids just learning to read, they can play I-spy matching words or letters based on the previously identified objects in the book. So when the kid advances to the next level, the book has a whole new challenge level waiting for them. I also like to play I-spy with the kids by picking out other items for them to find. It lengthens the book and you get your money's worth.

I bought this for my 4 year old nephew, and on Christmas Eve, he did not want to stop going through this book with me! He loved looking for the items and would get excited if he spied one before me! The pictures are so cute, fun and adventurous feeling in this book, and they really grab your attention.

Too dark to see

My son (3 years old) loves the I spy books. He can read it and find most of the items without help making them fantastic for restaurants and car rides. This one is just as great as all his other level 1 books.

good for first readers

Fun book for my 4 year old keeps him entertained in on car rides.

My son loves the I Spy books, no matter what level they are. These are great books to keep their minds sharp.
