EXTREMELY HOT - Very Dangerous!
Buyer beware, these bulbs get EXTREMELY HOT! Center temperature is just under 1,000 degrees Fahrenheit edges are over 530 degrees Fahrenheit! Seller should have WARNINGS in description about the extreme temperatures. DO NOT USE where children can access and keep a good distance away from any pets!! I purchased the 50 watt because at the time it was the lowest rating I could find, I did not want too much heat - what a mistake. I used one bulb in our chicken coop for one night when temperatures were below freezing and it overheated a 100 cubic foot space. One of our chickens got against the end of the bulb and it burned the feathers off of her back! After this horrible discovery I immediately turned off the bulb which had only been on for a few hours. I cannot imagine having something this dangerous in a human's house, especially around children or valuable pets! Could be a FIRE HAZZARD!!! It even browned the porcelain light fixture it was screwed into! See pictures showing how dangerous these bulbs are.

Constant dry heat for pets
I think these are awesome. Heat for small areas without the light of a heating lamp. I do wish that they had some sort of indicator of how hot they are, besides the heat you can feel radiating from them, there is no telling that they are hot or how hot they are. I chose the small sized ones of these because you can get a small cage that surrounds them completely do to them not having a easy way to tell they are hot and me having smaller children that might be curious. I connected power to them through a heat thermostat that helps turn power on and off so the area doesn't get to hot, they do hold a bit of heat and although they heat up quickly and cool down slower, the thermostat seems to help control the environment relatively well. I've had these for about 3 weeks now and they seem to be working as expected.

Too hot for a terrarium
Waaay too hot for a terrarium. It says 50 watts, but it puts out much more heat than expected. It would be good for heating an outdoor hutch, but it's too powerful for my 29 gallon terrarium.

Use for pet tortoise
Works well for our tortoise. We put it in a clip light socket that we can adjust as needed when we move the tortoise into different areas of the house. It does get very hot so need to be careful how close it is to anything that could potentially melt if it comes into contact with it. I like that these bulbs come I’m smaller sizes so it doesn’t get too hot for a smaller tanks, etc....

The heart is warmed
This is perfect for my small terrarium and it’s inhabitant Gary the gecko. It heats without the constant light that most bulbs have. It’s very warm and keeps my terrarium at about 70 when the room temp is 60 and about 90 when the room temp is 70. I really likes his heat.

Great so far!!
Fit in my mini fixtures perfectly. Did not expect these to heat so well!! Very happy with purchase so far. It’s only been 3 days so we will see how long they last but so far so good.

keeps turtles warm at night without have the lights on. The turtles need a night cycle.
Works great in our small tank during feeding or treating sick turtles. We also use it on our 20 gallon at night to keep the top of the tank warm when the light is off.

Works well for 10 gallon tall set up
Works very well; using it to maintain night time temps for a 10 gallon green tree python cage. Compact size and good heat output. Happy with the purchase.
