Hartz Delectables Soft Pate Tuna & Shrimp Cat Treats, 12 Pack

Great product but overpriced. Cats love this product but look for sales at stores. I buy when I cannot find in local stores.

The only food, my cats will eat!!I have a pantry full of cat food that I will be donating because this is the only product my cats eat every time!!

I thought this would be the same as the one at Wal-Mart - which almost looks the same and is for Hairballs. The picture in the Amazon listing has the Hairball part on the package removed - and that's how it looked when it arrived. Apparently, this is something that isn't at my local store. Due to the pandemic, I have been getting things from Amazon instead of Wal-Mart, but it looks like the Hartz Hairball Delectables right now isn't one of them.The difference in this product and the Hairball one I get from Wal-Mart is that the Hairball product also has Cellulose Powder in it, but all the other ingredients are the same. The cost from Amazon is competitive with Wal-Mart, but the savings aren't significant one way or the other. However, currently, the product is showing out-of-stock at Amazon and we'll have to see what happens in 3-months when the subscription is due again. I'll be monitoring the price though before I let the subscription ship, if it's in stock.My cats like it - and it's hard to please them, so that's a plus for me. Con is isn't the Hairball stuff I thought. So rather than replace something I have been getting from Wal-Mart, it's in addition to. However, find something that my cats will eat, and isn't bad for them, and it's a winner. This Hartz Delectable stuff is good for hiding medications inside and using a Magic Bullet to spread it around. Currently, it's my medium of choice for the generic version Capstar Flea treatment as flea season is now upon us.Also part of my kitty subscription package are 4 other Hartz Delectables in 12-packs and Purina Naturals Grain-Free. The Purina Dry food isn't actually available on the shelf at my Wal-Mart, only the stuff with grain right now, so bonus that Amazon can provide something better than Wal-Mart. I already left a more detailed review for that. Meow Mix Grain Free is something I still get locally because the Amazon Price is about 40% more.5-star rating because the kitties eat it. 4-star value for money because it's about the same as local. I didn't leave ratings for taste or scent because I didn't taste it myself and it's pretty stinky and I think it smells horrible, but hey, the cats eat it up and crave it, so it's a winner even though personally, I'd give it a horrible scent rating.

Cats absolutely love this food, smells and looks good

My cat just turned 20 & has been picky about food for several years. He has lost about a 1/3rd of his weight & is much more likely to eat what I've put down for him if it's something new. So when I saw pâté on the envelopes I purchased two boxes because he's more likely to eat les pâtés than foods with solid bits of meat.My complaint about these envelopes is that food is thrown away with the envelopes because it's difficult to remove it all without using a squeegee of some sort like I do with Hartz's treats in the long narrow flat tubes. I initially cut the latter open & let my cat lick the opened interior clean, but since chronic kidney disease has killed a lot of his appetite he tired of that quickly which is what forced me to come up w/the squeegee approach to avoid throwing away food = throwing away $$$.With diligence I've managed to halt my cat's weight loss, but it's even messier squeegeeing these larger envelopes on my counter to feed him all of something that isn't even nutritionally adequate for his needs since they're in the "treat" category and lack essentials for feline health.

My cats tend to lick all the juice out of their food. This I give in between their meals and they absolutely love this. It is perfect.

I bought a few cartons of these pates as an alternative to keep my cat full. She needs to lose a couple pounds, & I have been monitoring her intake more closely now. Any cat parent can tell you cats are picky eaters. Mine is especially so! My cat took a tentative lick of the spoon with which I put this on her saucer, and ZOOM! She licked the saucer so clean that I almost didn't know it was used! My cat is older & missing half of her teeth; this pate form is perfect for her! Very easy to consume.

My Maine Coon loves these. But now they keep saying they are out of stock, hence the 3 stars. I would have given 5 if they were actually still available!
