Most RDS transfer tanks also provide auxiliary fueling. RDS offers a full assortment of tanks in various capacities and dimensions to fit your needs. Auxiliary tanks connect to your vehicle’s fuel tank. Diesel fuel can “gravity feed” from the bottom of your RDS tank. An optional Diesel Install Kit contains the necessary items to economically and easily connect your RDS tank to your OEM fuel tank. Gasoline auxiliary fueling is allowed, if siphoned from the top of the tank by using an electric fuel pump. It was my fault for ordering before getting the proper measurements from the tank manufacturing company. The quality of this tank is excellent. After modifications and installing the gravity feed diesel transfer kit I filled it up and it worked great. Very high quality build with some great welds. No more stopping for diesel
Love the tank! I also got the install kit for my 2011 F-250, both work great! Side note--If the truck is going to sit for more than a day, close the shut off valve.

Nice tank
Well built,easy installation. As others have stated it only holds 40 gallons. Not a problem for me but if you need the higher capacity you may want to go a size up

Nice tank, but...
This tank is variously described as 40 gallon, 45 gallon, and 48 gallon. According to the tag, it has a 40 gallon capacity, although dimensionally, it holds 45 gallons. It is a nice tank, but the fuel cap leaks. The cap it came with is a SpinSecure locking, vented cap. Why it has a vented cap, I don't know, since the tank is already vented. I am trying to resolve the cap issue with RDS. Update: Although RDS was unresponsive, SpinSecure sent me a new cap for no charge, and the new one does not leak.

Not top quality
I bought this for my 2019 F250. When it arrived it came with lots of stickers on it because it did not come crated. The bottom of the tank was not flat at all the mounting angle that was welded on sticks off the bed at least an inch. Could have been better.

Wrong listed gallons for the part number.
This auxiliary fuel tank was sold by Amazon as a 48 gal tank, part # 70387 but it is really a 40 gal. tank as listed with part # 70387 on RDS web site. I got screwed on this deal but I should have checked it better upon arrival. I just assumed if Amazon sells it then it is right. Careful folks, not so.
