Very heavy cord..

I bought this as a gift for someone else. I got the number of pronges wrong. Went to return to rebuy the gift and I couldn't return it.However, that is my only complaint. Was packaged well, extremely heavy duty cable, just had to buy an adapter to use it.

Pro tip: this cable is for the 30 amp receptacle. If you have a 20 amp, it looks similar, but it’s not the same.

This is an outstanding generator cord for a great price.The cable is great quality. The jacket is non-marring, tough, and should provide many years of trouble-free use. It has a good thickness to it. It is smooth as shown in the product pictures, which makes it easy to pull around door jams, corners, etc. It also cleans really easy. The inner conductors are also smooth jacketed, and have the right amount of insulation that you would expect. The conductors have the right amount of strands for this class of wire. It plugs into my generator outlet securely and locks positively. It is small enough that it should work just fine with recessed receptacles, such as those you would get with water resistant receptacle boxes. The 4 standard outlet split connector end is also attached securely rugged. Though not shown in the pictures, it also has a plug-in cover attached to the cable with a lanyard for when not in use for this end only (there is not a cover for the L14-30P end). Not super rugged, but will hold with moderate use.I tested this cable with my 6500/8200 watt generator and maxed out the loads within the capability of the cable/generator. The cable works perfectly, and there are not hot spots or noticeable voltage drop due to the cable. This is as solid as can be expected.I bought a second one of these to power my 4500 watt residential water heater. I purchased the appropriate outlet box for that application for $9 here on Amazon. I just could not find this cable with that outlet, so I had to make myself. I cut off the splitter end and kept the L14-30P end. Tested it and works perfect. Cable handles that load like a champ, again with no hot spots or noticeable voltage drop due to the cable.Outstanding cable for great price. I would buy this again.

Haven't had to use it yet. But ready for another snowmageddon or summer power grid failure.
