DO NOT RECOMMEND
This is NOT beginner friendly and not well built. Within the first day running, the motor on mine overheated and seized up. I was able to track the problem down to the fact that the place where the belt attaches to the motor does not have a good space to seat the belt. It was rough and too narrow, causing the belt to catch and stick, putting strain on the motor. I had to repair the thing before I could use it, widening the gap and sanding it smooth so the belt doesn't catch. This thing says it's got 3 pound per barrel capacity and I've only run it with 1.5 per barrel and the motor still doesn't like the weight. The motor simply isn't strong enough to tumble that much weight. The motor gets so hot I've been leaving the top housing cover off and running a small fan directly on it to help cool it. I've oiled everything that can be oiled to help make it run smoother and it's still a huge problem. While the metal housing makes it a bit sturdier, its design makes the motor compartment smaller and more difficult to work on, change belts, etc.

Great beginner tumbler
Broke a few belts but I've seemed to have that all figured out (tension wise). Would definitely buy another one

Chicago Pneumatic Rock Tumbler
So far all is working well and I have 2 running of these running at the same time and there is the noise of water and the rocks turning it is relaxing not too loud. I purchased this one at about $30 dollars more than my first one I bought. If I wouldn't have already liked the brand I wouldn't have purchased it at that same price. But I will get alot of use out of it. They are continuously running and no issues at all.

Current models are the Best bang for the buck!
Actually pretty good tumblers, good design! I have serval different tumblers and have polishing rocks for over 40 years , this current design has heat sinks to distribute the heat more evenly and a switch to turn off the unit.As long you stay in the weight limits for each drum you will not have any problems, like breaking belts ( note make sure your surface is level Like a cement floor ). I have been using one going on for 8 months with virtually no problems. I bought a couple more from harbor freight with a fantastic warranty! .. I do favor Lortone because they last for ever! But I find these current models Chicago electric Tumblers are better then they ever have been ! Best bang for the buck!
