Platinum Fountain Pen, Preppy, Medium Nib, Blue Black (PSQ-300-#3)

I just started using the Platinum Preppy. Right away I was impressed with how smooth it writes. The blue black ink is also very good.

Medium nib size is clearly the best for me.

Preppy is an excellent brand for those wanting to start using fountain pens. It is a simple ink pen for a very small price. Just one word about the nib and the ink flow: they need to get going and might need your help. So, hold the nib under lukewarm water, flush out the nib-ink feed alignment and then let it rest. You first writing should then be on scrap paper as the ink will be watery but it goes by fast. I have two Preppies and love them.

I don't know why these pens are hyped so much. They are really cheap pens. My piece doesn't even write a single word before feed dries up and I need to jerk the pen to get it writing again. No matter waht the price is, a pen should be able to write first. Had to throw it away after wasting hours on the nib.

Not so smooth waste of money
