Great Pen!
Design: The form factor is pretty brilliant. It closes up small enough to fit anywhere and the cap screws securely into place. It was actually smaller than I expected, even when posted, but not so small that it was in any way uncomfortable. I had no problems writing with it even with my larger hands. I find the octagonal design to be incredibly attractive. It's very distinctive and combined with the brass gives it a very 19th century feel. Construction: I can't compliment the brass enough. The raw finish means that the thing will age and patina beautifully. It may scratch a little easily, but that only adds character. The brass also adds a very satisfying heft, giving even this relatively small pen a premium feel. Still, it wasn't as heavy as I worried it might be. While it feels solid in the hand, it isn't so weighty that you'd notice it in your pocket. Writing: The F steel nib feeds beautifully. Mine is a slightly wet feed and goes through ink a little faster than I might have expected, but that's not something I'm worried about. It will easily write under its own weight and writes smooth as glass across the page. Packaging: I adore the little tin the pen comes in. Its about the weight/consistency of an altoids tin, or maybe a bit thicker. The graphics on the lid are all nicely raised into the material, and inside is a kind of felt-like plastic that reminds me of the packaging you get on some cheaper jewelry. The whole thing is a really nice touch on an excellent pen. Curiously, the inside would hold two Kaweco Sport pens and a pair of extra international short cartridges, subtly suggesting that you should buy another pen. Crafty scoundrels. Summary: A great pen, especially if you're just getting started in fountain pens and want to invest in your first "premium" pen. THAT SAID, I got mine for $60. The normal retail is closer to $100. At the $60 price point, this is a really, really good value. At the $100 price point, it's still a rock solid pen, but you may have better options.

I carry this pen every day
This is a fantastic fountain pen. I purchased it with a fine nib, and it is an incredibly smooth writer. The nib glides smoothly across the page, whatever ink I throw at it (Diamine, J. Herbin and Kaweco in many colors so far). I write mostly in a Midori MD notebook, but it works great with Rhodia, Stalogy and Tsubame notebooks I have, and even on copier paper. It is my go-to, every-day-carry pen. I had great experience with Kaweco Sport Classics (plastic) and wanted to see what a bit more heft would bring to the writing experience. I find this pen to be very nicely balanced despite the extra weight (writing with the cap posted, of course). The brass takes on a great patina that continues to evolve through use. I added a bronze clip, which I think is a nice contrast, especially as the brass has aged. I feel that Kaweco doesn't get as much love as it deserves. I own several more expensive pens (Parker, Mont Blanc, Graf von Faber Castel, etc.), and I enjoy my Kawecos the most. Great company, and they really excelled with this Brass Sport!

Best in class. Might be the EDC grail pen.
I started collecting fountain pens during the pandemic and have acquired all sorts of low, medium and high end fountain pens from your basic TWISBI to Montblanc. As an EDC pen, I’ve used Parker Sonnets and Lamy Al Stars. I lean toward medium nibs, but ordered this in the Fine nib hoping the extra weight of the brass would add a little pressure and also knowing that German and French pens run a bit juicier than Japanese (I have several Pilots and find the fine nibs to be pretty scratchy). This writes like a dream. I can use it on almost any paper, from Moleskine 80gsm to fancy Tomoh River paper or simple 100gsm Paperage journals. No ghosting. No feathering. And it looks so classy in the brass. I have probably a dozen other Kaweco Sports and none of them disappoint, but this one is by far the best and cannot believe I waited this long to buy one. I added a clip (stainless steel) that I nicked from one of my other Kaweco Sports to match the nib. It does not come with a clip or a converter, but mine did come with a blue ink cartridge. This will get tons of use from journaling to product sketches and will be my new EDC. If you want a wonderful writing fountain pen, under $100 this is a class act and I cannot recommend it highly enough other than to say this might just be my grail pen. Shipping was fast, item was well packaged and I’m very satisfied with this purchase.

Unique and special pen
This pen writes very well and feels amazing in my hand. The heavy weight makes it feel very substantial and like you are writing something important. It makes me pay more attention to my payment yet. I am new to fountain pens but this one was very easy to load with the cartridges and write from the start. I have some problems with it starting dry at the beginning of letters sometimes so I will search on the Internet to see if there is a way to fix that. Also if you set it down without the cap on It will dry out in just a few minutes, so it is important to cap it all the time. It comes with one ink cartridge but I bought extras. If you write on very fin paper the ink, so very happy. Like if you write on quality paper it writes like a fine point. It is very unique and would make a lovely gift for yourself or a friend. At first I thought that the pan was too short for my large hands—my hand started to cramp—but after writing with it for a few minutes my hand relaxed and I realized that it was the perfect size.

Great fountain pen for on the go.
I love it. I just didn't realize that it didn't include the clip like my plastic sport did.

A Fountain Pen That Can Always Be At Your Side
Most Kaweco Sport fountain pens are relatively low-priced, and at just over 4" when closed, can fit into any pocket. However, since they're made from injection molded plastic, they are not very robust. And that's why Kaweco makes them in a variety of metals (Aluminum, Brass, Bronze, Steel, Sterling Silver), as well. The Aluminum version (Kaweco AL Sport) is just a little heavier than the plastic, and significantly sturdier and higher priced. Bronze and Silver were special editions, and are no longer sold. So, if you want the sturdiest pens, you can choose between Brass and Steel. Brass will patina when exposed to moisture, and since you are more or less "forced" to hold a fountain pen in a certain way to get it to write, your fingers will rub off the patina more quickly in those spots, creating a pattern of shiny brass on the patina'd surface that's pretty much unique to your pen. Brass is also not as tough or hard as steel, so the other "residents" of your pocket are more likely to scratch or scuff your pen...a clear sign that you're taking it with you, and using it "out there", which is what it's designed for. Due to the copper content of the brass, it's anti-microbial, so you're less likely to have live germs on your pen. And for those with sensitive noses, brass will give off a metallic smell (like when you hold a penny in your hand for 10 minutes), which will get on your fingers. If you can't get past that smell, I would recommend the steel version. How does it write? That has to do with nib size; generally speaking, the broader the nib, the smoother it will glide across the page. The Bock 060/#5 steel nib is available in five sizes, from EF to BB, and replacement nibs are also available in some calligraphy sizes. Nibs are usually in chromed finish, but there are also gold plated steel nibs available, as well as 14kt gold nibs for a hefty price. The nibs are fairly stiff, and you might have to adjust a misaligned nib to get rid of scratchiness. The nibs are probably never going to be as smooth as some high-end pens with 14-21kt gold nibs, but that's not what these fountain pens' mission is. As long as it's not scratchy, and only provides moderate feedback, you'll have a pleasant enough writing fountain pen in your pocket at all times. What I don't like: There's room for only one standard international short cartridge at a time, due to the overall shortness of the pen. That's not unique to THIS pocket pen; if it's long enough for two cartridges, or a standard converter, it's no longer a pocket pen. There's no O-ring to prevent the cap from unscrewing in your pants pocket if you don't screw the cap on tight enough. I have a virtually identical gel roller/ballpoint pen that is my EDC pen, and the cap will sometimes get loose in my pocket. That's not an issue with a gel roller/ballpoint pen ink cartridge, but fountain pens may leak in your pocket, or dry out...which is why my EDC is NOT the fountain pen version. If I carried my pens in a pen case, I would take my fountain pen as an EDC, but I just stick my pen in my shirt pocket with the (optional) pocket clip... What I like: Shape and size are ideal for stowing this pen in a small space, such as a jeans pocket, or small purse. The pen is always ready to write. Since I refill my cartridges from bottled ink with a blunt-needle syringe, and I were to take my fountain pen instead of my rollerball/ballpoint pen, I could top off the half empty cartridge before I leave the house. That way, if I get inspired to write something like "War and Peace" on the way to Walmart, I could do that ;-). And this pen is virtually impervious to damage. I wouldn't recommend running your car over it, but you probably could, and it would continue to write...but it would leave a mark!

I recommend starting with a medium nib instead of a fine
Good compact fountain pen with excellent fit and finish. About 3/4ths the length of a Lamy Safari when stowed and about equal with the cap posted. The weight of the pen is impressive for its compact size due to its solid brass construction. The fine nib is closer to an extra fine on other fountain pen's I've owned or tried. I definitely recommend the starting with the medium nib. The medium nib on this pen is similar to a Lamy Safari Fine or somewhere in between a Lamy Safari Fine and Medium but a bit dryer with Noodler's Bulletproof Black ink. I initially bought this pen with a fine nib and replaced it with an official gold plated medium nib to match the brass of the rest of the pen. The replacement was easy and was only a few quick twists of the nib and feed unit. The medium nib is a massive improvement in smoothness and way more forgiving of wrist angle. I found the fine nib to be scratchy and very picky on how I held the pen and wrote.

Great design, performance, resistance and best customer service ever from the brand.
I love this pen. I own a couple of Lamy Safaris, Aion, Faber-Castell Ondoro, a Montblanc and a Sheaffer, and I needed something I can carry around without worrying it will break on the field. This does that. The natural brass looks beautiful and I polish it sometimes at night with a jewelry cloth for a nice shiny gold color. Sometimes I just let the oxyde layer stay there as patina, and polish again when I get bored. It's like two pens in one. The nib works just great, the pen feels a little tiny for my taste, but it's good for scribbling things in meetings and on the go. I don't like it for longer writing sessions, I prefer a longer pen in my hand for balance. And thicker too. But for carrying around as a battle horse on the go, it's amazing. I stick it in my jeans pocket with my keys and it's like it's not there. I bought the fine nib and it's a typical western fine: not too fine, fine enough for detailed handwriting that tends to the medium-small size, like mine. The ink flows nicely, wet enough, and the tip is smooth. Granted, the nib is hard, it's steel, but nothing that bothers me and they have gold nibs available if I want to replace it with a softer one in the future. The only caveat is mine came with a cap that didn't post tightly, until one day it fell out and hit the floor, tip down. I contacted the vendor in Amazon and I never heard back from them. I contacted Kaweco and they won me over with the most amazing customer service: they said that's not how their cap should work and immediately send me a free replacement from Germany. They are the nicest, most professional people. My pen is now totally different from the one I bought: the lid is tight and secure now. I'm a big fan of the brand after this, my first experience with them. Nitpicking a little, the section of mine is a little discolored which is more noticeable when polished, making it contrast a little with the barrel. But that goes away when the patina shows up or if I polish the pen with a micromesh. So not sure if I want to bother Kaweco with this issue or even try again with the vendor (I figured if the latter didn't write back about the cap, much less about a relatively minor cosmetic issue). I ordered the black leather sleeve for it Kaweco Sport Etui ECO for 1 pen black and the square silver-color clip Kaweco Clip octogonal silver . Although I don't need the sleeve except for protecting it when it's laying around or thrown in my bag. Most of the time I carry the pen alone in my pocket. The pen is a conversation starter in meetings, it's solid, the design is pleasing and writes well. I'm very happy with it. So four stars for comfort (personal preference for bigger pens) plus one star for the amazing brand customer service, writing performance, material and design (because it is supposed to be tiny to be carried around): 5+ stars. Thank you Kaweco, you rock! —-UPDATE: couple of years later, still rocking on. I upgraded the steel nib to a Kaweco gold nib and it went from a great writer to writing like a dream! It sings! I now own a Montblanc 146 and a 149 and I still prefer to carry this Kaweco when size is going to be an issue… and I don’t miss the MBs at all, though I do enjoy using them. I absolute love it.

It's beautiful.
One look at this pen and I just had to have it. I paired it with a bronze clip and after it has tarnished, it just looks gorgeous. The subtle contrast of color between the brass and bronze is amazing and I love it. It writes smooth, its definitely heavy as far as pens go but its nicely balanced when you post the cap. Its small size means you can easily take it with you wherever. It came with the tin which includes a cartridge of blue ink which is nice. I also bought the mini piston converter since I have bottled ink but its nice they include a cartridge. The obvious downside is the cost, but I can say that it's been worth the money. I've read some comments about the threads on the body digging into their fingers when they hold the pen - I can say personally that the threads are not very sharp or deep and don't bother me whatsoever. You can definitely feel they are there, but they don't interfere at all with my writing so it's not an issue for me. Overall its a very nice looking pen that feels great to use and hasn't disappointed me.

Grace, beauty, experience & pride ...Thanks a lot.
Nice pen with very smooth writing. I collect many pens and this has already one of my favourites. I have taken the silver model also in broad nib. For writing in diaries fine nib is good, for signatures & casual drawing & writing, broad one is a blessing kind of thing. Thanks for making such a beautiful thing. Purchased broad nib from stationery physically, as it was not available online. That one is also awesome. Brilliant product.

DISEÑO Y CALIDAD
He tenido muchas plumas de muchas marcas y de muchos precios. Siempre he escrito con pluma. Esta tiene una calidad asombrosa de escritura. Nunca falla.
