Weight lands on firearm, not wrist!
Great to take weight off wrist, and is strong.Attractive purple cane—classy looking. If you are not yet in some way already strong in two feet, possibly wait till you are as this is not as seriously sturdy as would be the old fashioned silver Quad cane that the PT has at therapy—that is very safe. This little 6-point rubber bottom is very nice to have cane stand up by itself without having to hang into it while maybe at the post office checkout line when you are signing the purchase. However, do not think it is the same as a super solid metal 4-point quad cane.I say this is like a step beyond the quad cane ( as in your ought to be a little advanced and be more in between needing a quad cane and but yet ready for a one pointed cane tip). This is very handy as it is, as long as you are beyond the absolute need for a quad cane. The bottom only takes up a few inches if surface area whereas the traditional quad cane has a huge rectangular surface it covers (of many inches).Meaning, you have to be reasonably sure your two feet can bear enough weight that they will hold you up if you cannot find the best ground space for the cane.I hope I am making it clear this is an excellent cane for someone who can bear weight enough on both legs to stand without the cane, and just need it for movement stabilizing. If not yet ready for this, stay longer in the walker or quad cane si you can appreciate this intermediate option between quad cane and one pointed cane. I bought the one pointed tip fir when I improve my stability. Meanwhile I love this unusual shaped tip as it gives me a lot of options. In fact, I might keep using this when I am ready for one posted tip BECAUSE it literally stands upright all by itself! It has a curve to hookOn the arm or leanIn something else, but 9x out of 10, I just set it beside me as it stands by itself! Very convenient.AND IS LIGHT WEIGHT but strong enough to feel it’s sturdy support. One must use it in proper positionAnd you will train yourself quickly.MIT is adjustable and instructions say if you need higher support the setting can me a little taller for bearing more weight in arm.I am of good size and it holds me we up! It also can be used to stand up with something to hang into if there are no good armchair arms around. Like getting up in a waiting room when a Nursing Asst calls you.FYI: the cane Arrives in very gigantic box within a box and I had delivery person help me remove item from bix and take boxes away as there is 19x more package than product which apparently is to keep the cane perfect with zero risk of dents)!

Proprioception Skills Essential For This Cane!
Pros: Excellent hybrid for walking stick/crutches. Foam padding on handles placed to relieve any pressure. Ergonomic design to relieve pressure on upper body, hands, wrists, and arm joints. Very large surface area on tip of cane in contact with floor, thus allowing increased balance and sense of security. No need to stoop if adjustable pole placed in correct position. Canes will stay upright on a level surface when not in use, otherwise, add “foam twist bendable rubber ties “ to each cane (buy on Amazon) and create a hook to attach to an object.Cons: Person using device must have proprioception skills, therefore, not suitable for confused, dementia patients. Why? Those large rubber tips in contact with surface area could pose a trip hazard. Keep this in mind when purchasing. If you have proprioception skills there is a slight learning curve which can be mastered in a day if you have used a conventional cane. One of my canes has developed a squeak, squeak, when in use. I found a company site with questions and answers. My squeak problem was resolved with silicone spray. The Company does not refurbish canes, however, they do sell extra tips but no black foam for handles. Replacing the tips may require a handyman as the originals are very secure. Overall, highly recommend with above caveats.

Good cane, I don't like the ip though
I've had this cane a couple of weeks and love it so far. It is much more stable than other canes I have used and allows me to be on my feet longer. However, I can't recommend the self standing tip that comes on it. The cane is so long that the self standinp tip doesn't work well and tends to fall, at least mine did. I ordered the smaller tip for mine and the cane feels good now. The self standing it is very heavy too due to its size, so I recommend the smaller tip. If mine had come with the smaller tip it would be 5 stars for sure. I recommend.

Great investment
This is a very well designed, well-made and sturdy cane that gives the user a good sense of stability and support. Just be careful to not lose it, because this is one you would hate to lose. I'd suggest attaching a label with your contact info if you ever walk off without it. This is definitely a recommendation to buy it because it does provide much relief and ease joint pain and pressure (with the extra secure grip) so you can definitely (in a moment of increased confidence) forget you need it... and abandon it in the cookie aisle, for example.

Safer alternative to the self standing footing that came with the cane.
So steady without being too oversized. I found the wider “self standing” base that came with the cane too wide and I would step on it and it would cause me to become unbalanced. Great fit, great product!

Good for mom!
I bought this for my mom while she was in the stubborn stage of not wanting something to assist her. Maybe 2 weeks after having it she began to use for late night bathroom trips. Now she uses pretty regularly. We're both glad I took the initiative of finding a good walking assist. Now her neighbor wants 1 for someone in their family. They, along with my mom, really appreciate the arm assist for walking & how it can stand up on its own without leaning it or laying it down during that moment you want both hands.I'm happy my mom isn't trying to beat it up but like I told her; I 100% believe it can handle bumps, knocks, & drops. It's light which is great but also seems durable enough & I mean that in the best way possible. She's a shorter lady, barely 5 foot, & she said it's perfect for her on its shortest setting. She likes it where it is but she could even bring it up a notch or 2 if wanted.I'm not aware of a flaw. She hasn't mentioned any. Very happy with purchase.
