Very disappointing... it's being returned
TL;DR version - it doesn't work properly, I'm returning it. For those who want the background - I've replaced an old Acer 1920x1080 monitor that was connected to two PCs via an Iogear 2 port HDMI switch. The whole setup worked fine, but I was given a Samsung 4K monitor and decided the extra screen real estate was going to be useful. Now, I understood that there was likely to be problems driving this monitor through the HDMI switch, which indeed is true - it won't show above 1920x1080 - so I knew I was going to need to drive it via DisplayPort. My first problem was trying to find a DisplayPort switch that was under $500 that claimed to support 4K resolutions (i.e. 3840x2160) - most seem to top out at 2K. You can imagine my delight therefore when I found this thing. Swiftly ordering it, I waited impatiently for it to arrive. About an hour ago it lands on my doorstep and I unpack it. First surprise...um...where's the power adapter???? It would appear not to have one, and no option to use one either, so I'm guessing it's bus powered via USB. Okay, so I plug it all in using the provided MiniDP/USB KVM cables, reboot both machines, and then log in. Second surprise: the Samsung monitor immediately fires up telling me that it's at a 2K resolution, and the native resolution is 3840x2160 so please adjust my PC accordingly. Fair enough, so I go to Windows 10 settings, and that tops out at 2K as well. I hum and hah for a while, then dig out a couple of mini DisplayPort cables I've used in the past and a mini DisplayPort to full DisplayPort cable. I unplug the KVM miniDP cables, and use mine. Third surprise: nothing. There's NOTHING on the screen. Go in to Windows settings, and it doesn't even know the second display is there. I start tearing hair out, which is impressive because I don't have a lot left. I unplug everything, then just for giggles, plug each PC in directly to the Samsung monitor using my cables. Sure enough everything is fine and dandy - a lovely crisp 3840x2160 image. Sooooo... even though the little bit of paper in the box clearly states "Maximum Resolution 3840 x 2160 (4k @ 60Hz)" it's obviously telling porkies. I guess I should learn - you get what you pay for in life, and this was cheaper than all the others for a reason - it doesn't do what it says it should do. I'm returning it, and I can't recommend this to anyone with a 4K monitor. If you've got a 2K monitor then it's maybe, probably, possibly, fine, but for me and my needs it's basically a paperweight. Thank goodness for Amazon's returns policy.

Just what I wanted, stays out of my way
I have the Mini DisplayPort version, switching my LG 34UM95 between my PC and MacBook. It drives my display perfectly at 3440 x 1440 @ 60 Hz. I have a Model M keyboard with a USB converter, a Microsoft wireless mouse, and a chain of USB hubs with a webcam and other assorted stuff hung off of it, and everything works fine. The "Scroll Lock twice to swich displays" feature does not work; I'm not sure if this is because of the keyboard I am using or because I am using it with a Mac. For what it's worth, it doesn't work from the Windows side either. I haven't tried the bundled software but you might want to give that a shot if you want to put the KVM somewhere where the button on the front is inaccessible. The KVM does not do any sort of emulation of display, mouse, or keyboard; the active computer will behave as if everything is directly connected to it (it will see the monitor's model number and the keyboard and mouse manufacturer instead of generic devices) and the inactive computer will behave as if nothing is connected to it, like the cables have been unplugged. This works out for my use case because it means everything migrates over to my laptop's screen when I flip the main display over to the PC, but it may not be what you want, if you have a computer that behaves badly if a keyboard or display isn't connected when it is booting up. The case is metal and it feels pretty solidly built. It could be heavier; the weight of the cables can easily make it rest off-kilter if it is not positioned carefully. It came with two 6 foot USB and Mini DisplayPort combination cables; if that suits your setup, all you'll need is a cable to connect it to your display. The ports for connecting to the computers are on the back of the unit but the ports for the keyboard/mouse/additional USB are on the front; this is kind of annoying and my desk would look a little less messy if those cables were in the back. The unit appears to be powered by and senses the presence of connected computers through the USB connections; when I disconnect the USB from my laptop, it will automatically flip to my desktop.

Mac Pro works fine on Port one or two
Anyone have any idea whats going on here? Here's the setup: A mac pro, and a Gaming PC. Fist of all, for some reason, I only get video for the PC on Port 2. Mac Pro works fine on Port one or two. Being that the PC doesn't use MDP, I had to use a MDP to Display port cable for the PC. No again, this only work on PC port 2. If I switch, the Mac will work on either, but the PC wont work (show video) on Port 1. Weird huh? Also when the PC is on Port 2 - its fine, until I start gaming -- this creates sparkles on the screen, and occasionally the monitor gives out, and come back on like every 1-2 minutes. (It blacks out). This version of the KVM does not have an AC plug to give it extra power. I'm not sure what kind of issue this is... I am using a Samsung UHD monitor Any help appreciated.

So I asked the question, if this could run 4k UHD @ 60hz. I can confirm, I have it working with my Macbook Pro 15inch 2014 and My windows PC on my LG 4k UHD monitor @60hz.I used the cables supplied to connect to the computers and I purchased this cable to connect the KVM to my monitor https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00HNF0L2C/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o02_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 I ordered the Mini displayport version which support DisplayPort 1.2 protocol.
