A Compendium of Lace-Making - Bobbin, Filet, Needle-Point, Netting, Tatting and Much More - Four Volumes in One

Several thorough technique books.
You get a lot of pages your money here, from old sources, very well-versed in these somewhat fading arts. I would give 5 stars, but have some minor criticism of this compilation. First, all the books are essentially identical in their content. Read one and you have pretty much read what all the others have to say. There is some variation in individual bobbin lace patterns, but virtually no difference in the catalogs of stitches. Also the majority of the material is dedicated to bobbin/pillow lace patterns. I would have liked to see filet (lacis) get a little more attention, but I feel pretty picky saying so. Overall a very good deal, especially if you want to explore Torchon in depth.

Interesting start
The history was interesting. But the instruction was difficult to follow. Needs lots of pictures to be any use for instruction and there are hardly any.
