Used on wood frame horizontal opening windows. I needed something to keep the kids from opening the windows in the middle of the night. These fit the bill. They rely on friction, so don't expect them to put up with pulling and wiggling. They will eventually come out of the window channel. As long as nobody messes with them, they effectively prevent the window from opening or could be used to limit how far a window could open.

Tried to make my slider window child proof to keep it from opening no more than 6 inches, after torking it down hard I was able to remove it easily with out the key. Any child would be able to do the same. Maybe it's because of my slider window. Perhaps it may work good for others

These couldn’t quite get narrow enough for our windows. I ended up installing them at the tops of the doors that I didn’t want my son closing. They are easy to add or remove as needed, and my son is unable to reach them. He can no longer shut himself in various rooms and scream for me to let him out.

My 2 year old is able to get these off. If he pulls on the window enough, it causes it to slide down the track until the window can open and the lock falls off. I even tried to double them up with one on top and one on bottom and same exact issue. They don't stay in place. The lock itself is very sturdy and easy to use which is why the 2 star instead of 1.
