Dog Man: Fetch-22

I just had to see what all the kids were raving about and I’m
so glad I did! This is not only a great comic book, it’s a book that’s full of positivity, clean humor, abject silliness and a darned good time that can be enjoyed by the whole family. The illustrations are fabulous. Did anyone else think the Fair Fairy looked like a cranky Danny DeVito? The new “Flip-er-ama” feature that starts at the end of chapter 3 is just a riot; complete with a full page of directions! There’s special artwork to support this feature😉Barky McTreeface looks an awful lot like Jim Carey, right? All the characters have such great personalities, I’m seriously thinking about the previous 7 books...Petey and Dog Man band together and forge a friendship realizing that friends and family are best when it comes to saving what means most to you.My favorite character might be Commander Cupcake. I won’t say who I tho’t he looked like, but the glasses are a big clue! This is one safe way to get my gluten on🥰Dav Pilkey ends the book by adding to its value - there are pages of “how to draw” the characters and a few pages of notes that inspired adults can use to spark further reading and conversation. A very worthy reading experience 📚

An Adult’s Take on Fetch-22
Though they are written for kids, Dog Man books tend to impart lessons that adults as well as children could benefit from without being preachy. In Fetch-22, the characters learn that the only way to make things perfectly fair is if everybody gets nothing. Introduce goods and there will always be someone who has more. Maybe not the lesson most Americans want to hear but it is true as an aphorism.Pilkey also teaches that while you may not be able to save the world, you can always save someone’s world. The adage from Jewish tradition, “He who saves one life saves the whole world” is exemplified.Best of all, while your kids are enjoying the madcap antics of Dog-Man and his companions they can learn these lessons without a moralizing tone.As for my ten year old, he says it is as good as the prior Dog-Man books. Highly recommended.

According my daughter, the best Dog Man yet!
My 8-year-old daughter is *obsessed* with Dav Pilkey's Dog Man series. She devours each book within an hour or two of receiving it, and she's read each one 10-15 times. This book was no exception – I gave it to her an hour before bedtime and she was so excited she sat down and read it straight-through. Her review: "Good, good, good, good, GOOD! Five Stars!!" More specifically, she said this one is "the best of them all" and she loved the fact that there were more animal characters in this volume (they're her favorite). She also liked the plot and presented a riveting synopsis about evil tadpoles with mind-control powers. It sounded very exciting! My daughter is a strong reader and enjoys all sorts of chapter books, but Dog Man holds a special place in her heart. I love how much she loves these stories.

I LOVED IT! Great action and amazing story. My life would not be here without dog man, because EVERYONE DIGS DOG-MAN
I love it because it is amazing, good battles, friends, enemys, places, features, settings, genres, characters, but even more, great. Story.

Avoid Your Kids Reading This
My 6 yo like Dogman books and has all of them. It is funny in short term, but long term impact is very negative. Main character little Petey lives with dog and robot, his father keeps leaving him. He has not mother. Father is in jail all the time. All kind of psychotic crazy characters, doing crazy stuff. Petey is very depressed and hates life. When my son said, repeated Petey, I wish I do not exist, I hate my life, you are the worst father etc....That was the end...No more Dogman for him. So if you child is “sensitive” in any way, avoid this book sequel.

Pretty shod
So the first dog man was great, they got worse after that. Petey turned good, which stinks on ice like this whole book. Furthermore, Dog Man, the not-so-main character (FYI who this series is supposed to be about), played a small and an insignificant role. Why not just call the book 'Li'l Petey and papa' or something?? In addition, this book is just teaching readers about positivity and whatnot. (There is a red line under positivity, Kindle thinks it's not a word) and also how come Molly got to keep her powers and the other tadpoles didn't?? I sure hope the next book is (a lot) better, it has to be pretty good to turn this series around.
