Fantastic Piece
I love this series, and this (aside maybe from the Creature from The Black Lagoon set) has to be my favorite. I love the interpretation of The Phantom which draws from both the classic horror film (his mask is very similar to Lon Chaney Jr's mask) and the musical as referenced by the dashing hero figure complete with sword. The detail on the organ looks marvelous at a distance and close. The action feature is a little stiff, but it works and any action feature that doesn't diminish the value of a figure or set is a good one in my book, and this is a quality piece all told.

Very cool
Quite an interesting set. The pieces are very detailed. Got this for a Christmas present. My son loved it! He built an opera house for it and it fits perfect.

McFarlane's Monsters: The Phantom of the Opera Playset
While the Mummy Playset may be my personal favorite out of all eight McFarlane's Monsters Playsets; I freely admit the Phantom is probably the best of the bunch.I simply love the design of the Phantom himself from his real cloth cape, sword and sheath, removable mask and ghoulish face; looking more like some kind of zombie than more traditional, simply scarred phantoms. I love his pose as well, especially when his clutching hand is posed just right. As for the Actor figure; I thought it looked very cool as a kid, but had zero use for it as an Actor figure. Instead I used him as a seasoned Monster Hunter, Van Helsing type who would travel across the playsets to battle the monsters a la Mighty Max.As for the diorama itself; I can't recall now as I had this set in my youth; but I'm pretty sure it is the tallest set; even taller than the Hunchback's tower. It has plenty of features, too. The Phantom's large organ, a falling chandelier and a balcony with real cloth curtains. This set simply looks amazing when assembled and still holds up well today, roughly twenty years later.

Great for diorama
A great addition to my haunted dollhouse, the figures are not up to par with Playmobil quality that we are using this with but great for spooky decor
