If you go to the company's website it has a different sizing than it actually is in current modern sizing. I wear a size 6 (36,28,38) and wear a size XS in this brand. Most other brands I wear a medium, sometimes a small.I expected the dress to be a thicker material, but it's the thickness of a t-shirt so keep that in mind.Also, when I went for a walk, I found myself having to pull the dress down from riding up on my body.Overall a comfy, nice looking dress. This dress would be perfect if it has a little bit more of an a-line cut; I wish it wasn't so straight, that it was a bit more fitted in the top, but more loose around the belly and through the hips. That being said, I think this is still flattering even though I'm carrying some extra weight these days. I have short but thick arms, and these sleeves fit my arms very well. I got it in raisin, and the color is very true, a dusky, grayish lilac. I think the cowl neck fancies this up a bit. I have worn it to the funeral of a friend, as well as out to dinner. It is one of those "go to" wardrobe pieces for me, because it fits comfortably, doesn't wrinkle easily and I can push up the sleeves to make it a bit more casual. It packs well, and is a great value!I know not everyone wears black well. But almost everyone needs at least one black dress.
