Best beginner’s fountain pen
I always hear how the Lamy Safari is the best beginner’s fountain pen, and it’s a safe bet, but this pen beats the Lamy in more than one thing. First, it’s almost half the price. Second, it’s the size of a regular ballpoint pen, making it a natural transition for a beginner’s grip, plus it fits those journal leather pen loops that most fountain pens don’t, making it also a great EDC pen. Third, it’s plastic, but it doesn’t feel as plasticky as the Lamy Safari. So is it too good to be true? No, the ink flow is as expected for this price range, and it will start skipping after a long writing session (it’s still better than the Kaweco Sport, a very popular, and pricier, EDC pen). The M nib is almost a B, so if you don’t like thick lines, you’d better off with another option. Also, I think Parker inks are not very good, so while I appreciate it comes with two cartridges, I suggest that for a better experience you toss them out. There are more expensive versions of this pen, but it’s not worth it, the quality it’s still the same, you’ll be better off buying a converter and an ink bottle for this one, if you feel like you could spend a little extra. This has turned out to be a great EDC pen for me, and I use it more than any fountain pen I own, for that, I give it 5 stars.

missing ink
very nice pen. Stated comes with both Black and Blue ink. Only blue was included. For me that is fine, as I did not intend to use black!

A good pen
Nice inexpensive pen. Only down side is proprietary cartridges for ink. It does come v with two, one blue, one black which is nice. it is slenderso if you have large hands you might not like it.

Parker Pen is great
I bought a lot of fountain pens, some from Japan, some from China. Overall, I like this Parker the best. The tip is smooth with the right amount of resistance. More importantly, the ink never leaks to my fingers.

Great little fountain pen.
This pen is larger than a conventional ballpoint Jotter, but not by a lot. Great for EDC and starts every time with no problems. This was my second one. All metal, ridiculously inexpensive. There's no choice in nib size but medium. In this case, it's not an issue. Buy one.

jotter in name only - also manufacturing defects
it is priced like a jotter, but then so are many pens. it is designed for quick engagement like a jotter, but so are many pens. its looks* and feel does not remind the user of a jotter, but then so are many pens. essentially, this is not a jotter, it is just a fountain pen. if you like the style of this pen, then buy it. but note that quality control seems lacking, as my white pen came stained with some other color. *the parker jotter's classic design has a few basic elements, the most crucial are the oblong shape and the single color plastic body that goes into a metal nock-casing. the nock mechanism i can do without since that would price the jotter fountain pen at about ten times its current price, but it is a mistake to have two plastic colors with a metal cap. the single plastic color is part of the attraction to the jotter. and it doesn't helps that it isn't shaped like a jotter. what they should have done is flipped the top for the bottom for the fountain pen and kept the shape. in its current design, it is a jotter in name only.

It's entry level I guess
You should know that this is my first fountain pen, so I've nothing with which to compare it. I've had a very rocky start with this pen; it was far from a plug and play experience. It took a lot of fiddling around trying to get the ink to flow. My daughter did most of the fiddling including running hot water through it. What finally got it flowing was when I aggressively squeezed the ink cartridge between my thumb and forefinger thus forcing the ink out of the cartridge. Even when it finally started flowing it initially had a lot of skips, or dry starts. The skips are mentioned in other reviews as well. It took persistence to get to the point of liking this pen. It's almost as if it needed a break-in period to get limbered up. Now that I've been using it more often the skips are fewer and far between, but I never have a skip-free experience. I chose this pen to see if I would like writing with a fountain pen, and have found that when it works I do enjoy the feel. It's smoother than a typical ball point although not as smooth as a gel pen. I chose a Parker because that's what my dad always had in his pocket, specifically a Parker 51 which was a beautiful instrument. Some day I'll treat myself and splurge on a teal blue 51 in memory of him.
