Relaxing relief for chronic tension and pain
I suffer with chronic neck and shoulder pain. I had a soft tissue injury last year and I also work with computers so get knots frequently. I use two warmies nightly, but having a dedicated shaped heat wrap definitely provides superior relief. I'm loving this so far.Pros:• Great size. I'm quite small and the wrap comfortably sits around my shoulders. The velcro flap is easy to connect anywhere on the blue material so I'd imagine it will fit many different shapes/sizes, plus this means you can have it higher/lower on the shoulders dependant on where it's done up• The extra silica beads around the neck provide enough thickness to ensure warmth reaches a good height of your neck• Ridged, fanned design is super comfortable around the shoulders and heats up all my tense areas evenly• Instructions are straightforward: heat for 1 minute, shake the beads to spread the warmth, check heat, if more needed keep heating for a further 30 secs (max 2 mins)• Genuinely feels very relieving to have on; I love the warmth and will enjoy it for a good half hour before it loses any heatCons:• I'm unsure if the heating instructions are different for different wattages - our microwave is 800W and can't see anywhere obvious it mentions this. I'd rather heat it for a tad longer and have it hotter, but it's hot enough to provide relaxation and to ease tension• The silica beads are relatively weighty, so when standing the wrap will be heavier at the back if you don't balance it. I usually use it lying down so it's not an issue for me• Would be nice if it were lavender scentedSo to be honest, I would buy this for the price. I think it's good value considering it's specifically made for the shoulders and neck and for me these are crucial areas I want to treat regularly. The silica beads are evenly distributed, and I really enjoy the fact it's heavier - to me this aids in relaxation and pain relief. Highly recommended for anybody suffering with chronic shoulder/neck tension or pain.

Not overly strong
This seemed ideal for my stiff neck problem, I regularly need to use a wheat pillow around my neck which provides temporary relief but I was hoping something different like this moist silica gel option could be the answer. The bag itself arrived in a box which was squashed open without a seal, which during a pandemic, something which is going to be in contact with your skin you'd expect it to be sealed, so that was disappointing so I had to try and hand wash it immediately. The fabric itself feels rather thin for the weight of the beads inside, it's a very heavy item, which weighs you down a fair amount which some might like, I'm used to it with my wheat pillows which are also weighty but I am questioning its longevity because of this.To heat I microwaved this for a few minutes to make it a heat which was suitable for me, the less you heat it the less hot it is obviously so for those more sensitive to heat or less mobile and unable to adjust if too hot i'd recommend no more than 2 mins. The pad is warming, I haven't noticed a huge different with it being silica gel beads so I feel for the price it's a little much and there are more affordable options out there but I do like that it velcro's around you, instead of my wheat pillow which would fall off with movement.

Great heat therapy if you can lift it!
Quality of material could be better, it’s quite thin and ‘cheap’ looking. Whilst performance is more important to us with products like these quality of the covering will effect durability. This does heat really well, much better than any of the microwave gel products we’ve tried or microwave water bottles. My husband thought it wasn’t hot enough so went for the full 2 minutes but it’s very hot once you apply it! You definitely need clothes under it or heat it for less time. Although I was sceptical, it is easy to distribute the heat throughout for an even result. My issue was it was far too heavy for me to tolerate in place and too heavy to put on myself. I have fibromyalgia and after Covid and multiple infections and pleurisy I was hoping this would help. Unfortunately I can’t use it. It does give great heat therapy but it’s not to the parts I need in the should blades. Whilst you can hang it over the area too it’s just too heavy for me to move about and put too much pressure on me. This is because I have fibromyalgia so we need lightweight solutions as pressure increases the pain. The reason I’ve settled on four stars is because my husband gives it five! He uses it every night after work and it’s doing wonders for him. He prefers this to all his hot and cold gel pads. He suffers with recurring tendinitis in his shoulder and needs another injection but our surgery isn’t doing them at the moment. This hits exactly where his pain is and he also finds it really relaxing. To be fair if I could use it I’d give it five stars too as the heat therapy is impressive. I’m back to hanging my electric heat pad over my shoulder though. I feel that they have failed to mention it won’t be suitable for many who will struggle to lift it over their shoulders. It’s also not universal as the wider your shoulders the less use it is. My son is very broad so it fits in between his shoulders and his neck area. Larger people (like me) will only benefit from use thrown over the shoulder which I wouldn’t recommend trying if you can’t lift things. So my honest opinion was a 3. My son was a four as he is able to throw it over his shoulder easily and likes the heat from it. My husband admits its not a universal fit so we agree it’s a four if weight isn’t an issue for you - it weighs 1.4 kg on digital kitchen scales.
