Essential Spotlight camera is great. Doorbell takes higher voltage than some.
The spotlight camera is perfect. Have had to do some rewiring and add a stronger transformer for the doorbell. No one’s fault though.

Better than Nest
I’m replacing all of my next equipment and I have to say that both services offer pretty equivalent features in terms of alerts and form factor. I like the idea of the battery based system. The main downside to battery based cameras for my front yard is that it’s almost constantly getting triggered because of people walking or cars passing. I went through a while charge the first day. Adjusting the sensitivity of the camera seems to be helping reduce the number of detections. The activity zones are a bit finicky. I don’t know for sure if it’s actually respecting them or not because I’ve clearly set the zones feet away from the sidewalk but it still triggers a recording every time someone walks by. I’m hoping Arlo will continue to refine their software and improve the usability of things like activity zones. It would also be fantastic if, when opening the app to the home screen, the cameras would immediately start showing a live stream. Having to activate each one individually is time consuming as each takes a moment to turn “on” and begin streaming. Overall though these are just quirks that will either improve overtime or I’ll get used to.

Would’ve got 5 stars but......
I just got mine and I really like it. It was relatively easy to install. Easy to connect to home WiFi. The app is easy to navigate. The clarity of the video and especially the night vision is impressive. I saw negative reviews about the video being very delayed but I feel like that may be dependent on your WiFi and internet speed. I’m running 70-100mbs with cable internet and my video only has a 3-5 second delay. Very pleased with mine so far.Would’ve gotten 5 stars BUT the door bell unit I got had a severely stripped out screw in the back, I had to run to Lowe’s and get a screw extractor. Other than that.... I’m very happy with it.

So Unreliable!
I RARELY write reviews but felt so compelled to write this with all of my frustration. The whole doorbell, homebase, outdoor ultra camera has been a disaster.It’s been 3 years since my initial purchase and I’ve gone through 2 doorbells and 2 outdoor ultras.My first doorbell frequently showed offline on the app and required power cycling followed by a restart of the base in order to fix. After being exhausted by the frequent restarts, I purchased a replacement after 2 years. The second is better but still requires the occasional power cycling when showing offline in the app.The outdoor ultra camera IS THE WORST. I’ve had this replaced already one time by Arlo. It’s literally 30 ft from the base but always complains about weak wifi connectivity. It has appeared offline in the app twice as often as the doorbell and has also required power cycling followed by a restart of the base. I bought a new battery as well since the previous was completely gone but my ultra has struggled to keep it above 5%.I don’t know if I bought these devices when Arlo was first starting or what but it’s been a disaster for me. Customer service is also a one star for me. They’re so numb to people’s situations. After waiting more than hour for an agent, they follow a 30 line item troubleshooting process that you’ve already done yourself because that’s what the documentation tells you to do. The ultimate fix is always of course a “restart”. If you complain about having done all they said, they give you a document to fill out where you explain in detail all of the steps you took to troubleshoot the issue on your own. Are you kidding?! You can’t offer a solution that isn’t already documented for customers to try?I’m saving for a Eufy system in the hopes of being liberated of this endless cycle of let-downs by Arlo’s products and support.

Excellent image quality ; easy for non tech savvy
After a few weeks of using the Arlo Ultra camera and video doorbell we are impressed. It was easy to set up and connect. Image quality is way better than others that we have seen. We did hire an electrician to connect the doorbell to replace our older doorbell and chime.... mainly because we leave electrical needs to the experts. If you are comfortable doing it on your own it didn't appear that difficult.After a few days of using the camera and doorbell we did have an issue with not being able to connect ..... we contacted tech support and they quickly shared that they were having systems issues for a couple of hours. When those were resolved our system popped back online. Overall we are very pleased.

Best 4K HD 180 Degree Wireless Security System Available!! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
The Arlo Ultra 4K wireless security system and video doorbell are like no other! The video quality is superb, especially at night. I love the 180 degree camera. I only had to install one camera to cover the entire front of the house (as compared to 4 cameras a friend of mine required with the original Arlo system). The security light activates at night, but only for the area you highlight on the app. Love that I can activate the siren, talk two ways, and call 911 directly from the app using e911. So happy I waited for the release of the updated Arlo Ultra 4K system before we made our purchase, especially since prices have now gone down. Love our Arlo Ultra 4K security system and video doorbell! Highly recommend!!

No 4k free trial
Easy to set up! Wish the free trial allowed for 4k recording, seeing that's why most everyone will be buying this system. Spoke with Arlo today (great customer service), told me the free trial will allow me to view the camera in 4k while I was at home on the same WiFi as the camera. But if I'm not home and the camera records, it will only record in 2k. Not a huge issue but just be aware.
