Adult Oral Care Dry Cat Food, Chicken, 3.5 lb. Bag

The point of this food is to clean cats’ teeth by forcing them to have to break down the big kibble with their back teeth to get them clean. This is definitely NOT for cats with sensitive teeth. The kibble is large and crunchy because that’s how it works to clean teeth! And it really does seem to work. I feed my cats Nulo kibble and canned food which is high quality, species-appropriate, very good quality food, but the kibble is tiny, so it does not benefit their teeth. I purchased a small bag of this food and use it as treats. I’ve been giving my kitties about 4-5 pieces each, once a day at treat time, and I’m shocked that I already see a difference. They had already been getting the same number of Greenies treats and these seem to work much better. My cats are both less than a year old, but tartar has already started, and with that I was seeing some redness starting around the gumline by the tartar. Due to several illnesses when we got them, we had to prioritize their medicine over training them for teeth cleaning, so they are both averse to having their teeth brushed. I still plan to slowly work on that with them, but this kibble really does seem to make a big difference, even when used very sparingly! I don’t think anything can really remove tartar, but it’s only been a little over a week, and the redness on their gums is already gone and it really does look like they have less tartar, though I really am not sure if that’s actually possible! I also have noticed no tummy or litterbox issues, but as I’m giving them only a few pieces a day, I don’t feel I can really judge that for those planning to use this as meals. They really like the flavor apparently because they gobble it up at treat time. Very encouraging results so far!

My cat has had gum issues from a young age due to allergies. I’ve been feeding her Hill’s Science Diet Sensitive Stomach & Skin dry food. She’s now 5 years old and had tartar buildup on her back teeth. The vet wanted $2,000 for a dental cleaning. I saw this food on Amazon and decided to give it a try. I didn’t expect it to remove the tartar, but I figured it wouldn’t do any harm either. At first, I was disappointed. My cat started vomiting after eating this food because the kibble pieces were much larger than what she was used to (she usually just swallows her regular food). So I gave it to her as a treat instead, without replacing her main food. Gradually, she learned to chew the bigger pieces. I started checking her teeth from time to time. After a few weeks, one of the back teeth was completely clean — no more tartar. On the second tooth the very tip had cleared. But today, when I checked again, both teeth were completely clean. Wow. It’s so rare when a product actually lives up to its advertisement. After almost 3 months, her teeth are totally free of tartar. I’ll definitely keep buying this food. Thank you to the company for creating such an amazing product that keeps pets’ teeth healthy and saves money on dental care!

Very expensive, but cats love it. Also, it actually seems to be helping their dental health. I give them half this stuff and half some less expensive stuff, so I think their dental health would probably improve even more if this is the only thing they ate. But, as I said "Very expensive".

Our three cats like this product and have eaten it for quite a long time--several months. Does it reduce the possibility of problems with their teeth? I don't know, but I hope so. The food was delivered promptly and was packaged well for shipment.

I'm glad I read reviews before purchasing, the kibble pieces in this food are MUCH larger than a regular kibble. This forces the cat to bite into each piece allowing the food to help clean their teeth. My cat was not mine originally. The person I got her from fed her Meow Mix for the first 3 years of her life. It took me a long time to get her off of Meow Mix and used to eating something slightly healthier - we moved to Purina Indoor Advantage. She now LOVES Purina and was very mad when I recently introduced her to Hills Oral Care. I don't know if it's the flavor or the size of the pieces she doesn't enjoy, but it's not her favorite food in the world. She does eat it - begrudgingly. This actually works in my advantage as she's slightly overweight and is on a diet. With her not loving this food, she eats less - putting herself on the diet and keeping her from meowing at me for more food! I will continue to buy this for the sake of her teeth and health, but I feed her a mixture of foods to keep her happy as well.

I have bought this cat food for over a year. mix with other hard food. cats seem to like. can tell difference in breath.

I technically got this for creampuff my extra chunky cat. It has low calories per cup (not quite as low as hills weight management or something, but pretty close) however the larger bites slow him down more so to me it's quite comparable. I actually use this for weight management but my kitties did get a good report at the vet for their teeth and I don't brush them so maybe it's this or genetics or both. And they all like the flavor. My one cat who's prone to vomiting doesn't seem to (however I do have a mix of foods in their routine so I can't vouch to that 100% as he eats this but also more of the urinary/hairball hills.) my vet turned me on to the oral care by using it as treats in the office actually, incredibly smart, I originally bought it as treats for chunky but they all seemed to like it so much it became rotated in as a food option.

This was recommended by my vet to help with oral care for my cat. The concept is she has to open her mouth extra wide to crunch it so it works its way further back and works on the back teeth. It turns out my cat prefers this to her real food. I put about five pieces out with work her regular food and she’ll always eat this first.

I bought it because normally cats love the taste of any Hill's product. My cats tried to eat it and couldn't. Even starving street dogs refused to eat it. I think it was stale, expired product that was lying in the Seller's store for many months. There is mot date of import or date of manufacture given anywhere on the packaging. I just lost Rs. 1447 on this.

I’ve always fed my cats Hill’s Science Diet, but I’m so happy to have found this food that they actually enjoy and that also helps keep their teeth clean! It’s a great way to save on future vet bills. The pieces are larger, but they’re soft enough that even my 8-month-old kitten has no trouble eating them. They all love it!
