The mobile app is a problem for most users. That's the bad. Really, that's it.The good: controlling it isn't intuitive, but it is easy to learn. Nothing tricky. The cameras have rather decent image quality. The motion detection is effective and the night vision is decent. Installation is as simple or complex as you make it. It can be slapped together with zip ties and tape or carefully installed in the walls professionally. It works either way.

Start up was a little awkward...it was asking for a password on the 1st or 2nd screen but I had not set up a PW and there was no PW default..confused and frustrated, I emailed tech support and they called me and told me to just hit the next button to continue with the set up. Duh, user error! I bought this system to replace my one that took a lightning strike (fried the DVR and cameras). I was able to use the old cables and the view from the new cameras is very good/clear. My old system (no longer made) was already programmed to time stamp various movement for each camera so during playback it was easy to spot when and where activity was present on each camera, this one evidently has to be programmed. I do not have the live connection set up...maybe someday. Overall, this new camera system was easy to install and I am happy with it!!

spent all day running wires for the cameras, and initially only one worked. I managed to get 3 working before calling it a day. I determined that 3 of the BNC cables were faulty. Contacted seller and they were on top of it. Even at what I would consider “after hours”. They are shipping replacement cables for me to finish the job.The cameras that are working, work great. The app could use some work as I don’t find it user friendly, but the cameras show great on it.The one thing I really was confused about was it came with instructions on how to set up the DVR and the app, but nothing on the different settings for the cameras. I’m still messing around with that. Overall, for the price, it’s a good system and worth the money once you get it going

My neighborhood's security is just getting worst nowadays and a lot of terrible things happening here. Things in my backyard have been stolen quite often. I decided to invest money in buying a decent security system to keep my family safe. I got this XVIM 8 cam security system mainly because of its cameras and 2TB storage. I'm a DIY guy but I'm not a tech guy for everything. The installation was surprisingly fast and easy. It took me about 30 mins to get everything done. These eight cameras are solid and weatherproof for outdoor. So far, the video footage has been clear and smooth. I love the fact that I can check my house with my phone app when I'm away. And feeling much confident after I set up the motion detection which will send me alert and email when triggered. The night vision recording works but I would still recommend getting motion-triggered lamp.

Everything about this security system was great unless you're looking to remotely view your cameras while you're away. The "only" app used to remote view your security system worked for a couple of months and now just crashes and closes when attempted to use and I'm far from the only one with this problem, just look up the app "XVRView" and see for yourself. This is very unfortunate as I already have everything installed and can't access remotely as promised, please don't buy this item and make the same mistake. Aside from that, you'll have to adjust your dvr time about every other week or so , cause the time is off the longer you record.

The media could not be loaded. This xvim 8ch security system exceeded my expectations for its price point! The cameras arent quite 1080p, they actually are 1080n which is 960x1080 instead of 1980x1080 like 1080p is, but they are slightly better than 720p which is 1280x720, in my opinion.I found the cameras very easy to mount and adjust to get the perfect view coverage area. All it too was a phillips head screw driver bit in my screwgun. Downloading the viewing app from the qr code was super easy. I highly recommend this video surveillance system. Inexpensive and you simply won't find another 8 channel system with good night vision, a 2tb hard drive and cameras that are this good of resolution for less! I bought this in September 2020 just getting around to see it up. So far 5 cameras are working we have 3 down. Husband is trying to figure out now what is wrong with the three not working. The App still trying to figure that out. Will be calling tech support soon as the App is not picking up the pictures yet.

So I tried to find it online. Compared with several products, this price/performance ratio is still acceptable. Soon received the goods, the box including eight lenses and all the wiring, installation is very convenient, I installed at night, the effect is still good, and there is night vision function, thank the seller very much, i saved a lot of money.
