It helps make the salicylic acid water soluble and more sense since usually SA is lipid soluble only. **Q: Has anyone found that this serum reduces an oily face?** A: I did not find that it helped to reduce sebum production. My sebum production remained the same when wearing the serum, which I only put on at night. If you wear it during the day, you'll need to make sure that you put sunscreen over it. Alternately, you can wear it with a mattifying moisturizer. **Q: Can this be used on my scalp under my hair?** A: Well guess your scalp is under your hair but dear this is a face serum. I was desperate and had tried all of my other serums and treatments to no avail, and I decided to give this one a shot since I hadn’t ever really tested it and, again, I was desperate. Well, almost 2 weeks later and my skin is more or less totally clear again and the hyperpigmentation from the pimples are also fading very nicely! And I’ve experienced no dryness, redness or irritation. I just put a squirt of it into my palm and mix that with my moisturizer and put them on together each night and it does the trick. So, I give this product 5 stars, because it works so much better than I could have ever hoped and it’s very affordable, even now with inflation prices! Buy this if your skin is sensitive but you need serious acne fighting ingredients.
