Great Quality/Great Value
Very happy with this system. Great Quality, Easy to follow instructions, Lots of value for the cost (glass backboard, easy to use pole actuator, backboard AND pole pads) + FREE SHIPPING. All this for under $550. There is very little vibration in the board/pole when in use. In reality its very hard to notice & doesn't linger. Unless you are an NBA prospect, I doubt it would be something you would ever notice. This is a very good quality unit & it looks & plays as good as the $1000 + systems in our neighborhood. Installation will take a couple days. One to dig the hole/set the pole (it will take 9 bags of 50lb concrete to fill the hole plus I used 2 extra bags in the pole. Wait 2 days for the concrete to cure then another 2-3 hrs to finish installation. Again the instructions are very good & the hardware is sorted & marked out already for you by the manufacturer. The "swedge" pole design is difficult to get the full 6" overlap though. Not sure if others have had difficulty getting the full 6" overlap, but we even put hydraulic pressure on the pole using a loader & still couldn't get it all the way there. We were close enough though. Highly recommend this system. Is every bit as good as those in the $1000-$1300 range.

great quality at this price point!
this system is very high quality. powder-coated square post made of thick steel. heavy duty hardware for putting it all together. installation was a snap. others have said that they had difficulty getting the 2 pole sections together, but i had no problem...3 hard smacks on the ground and it was together. i hired somebody to pour my concrete pad, and while they were pouring the pad i set the post so i didn't have to mess with mixing quikrete. installation of the backboard was a breeze. instructions were crystal clear, the hardware was shrink-wrapped on a piece of cardboard and clearly labeled so you knew exactly where your parts were. my brother and i installed it in about 2 hours. system is SOLID with very little vibration. i would highly recommend this system, you won't find another quality system with a tempered glass backboard at this price point.

I love this! Fun for our whole family
I have to say that I am completely satisfied with this hoops setup. We were looking for something that was sturdy and would be as close to the real thing as possible without breaking the bank. This setup fits the bill perfectly. The price was a little under $500 when we purchased it and had it installed for a couple hundred more. (We could have done it ourselves but wanted it to be a surprise for the kids). I have to admit I go out and shoot hoops a couple times a day myself! The glass backboard is essential to getting any type of realistic feel and rebounds. Buried in 2 feet of concrete it is as sturdy as you would expect. Yes there is a little bit of shaking, bit that will be the case with any in ground or portable unit. It's really not that noticeable at all Now all of the neighborhood kids come to our house first to play even though there are probably at least half a dozen portable units littered throughout the neighborhood. I would recommend this to anyone who plays for fun or has kids that love hoops but aren't trying to go pro (yet).

Hits the Sweet Spot of Quality and Price
Silverback's packaging was superb; no damaged parts whatsoever. Amazon's delivery service was spot on and all well-coordinated -- a gold standard!. The assembly/installation instructions were about the best I've ever seen, except that some of the details to the assembly could have been printed a little larger. Rather than a bagful of hardware that you have to sort through, Silverback provides a nice blister-pack of the hardware, all labeled and indexed to the assembly instructions. The overall pole/backboard is relatively stable. Yes, you can buy better/sturdier, but at almost double the price. To me, this unit represents the sweet spot of reasonable quality, and good price. I bought the 54" backboard, rather than the 60", and the 54" is plenty big. No issue whatsoever on wishing I had bought the bigger one -- just not needed. I wish the pole to backboard offset was a little more so that when the hoop is at 10', the pole was further behind the backboard. Not a huge deal, and not enough reason to spend a lot more on the next step up. One small, but very important detail that I hope Silverback will take notice of and correct immediately: once you have the backboard up, the instructions call for you to install backboard pads (basically cushions for the lower corners of the backboard) with self tapping screws. In order to see where you're installing the screws, you are basically below the backboard looking up, so the hot metal filings (created as the self-tapping screws are 'drilling' through the metal backboard frame) are falling toward your face. Incredibly, the instructions only call for safety glasses if you opt to drill a pilot hole, but not for installing the screws without a pilot hole. The solution is simple: modify the instructions to install the backboard cushions before the backboard is installed. Either that, or pre-drill and tap holes for screws (non-tapping) to be installed.

Excellent hoop for the money
Installed this unit few weeks ago. Installed the pole on a Saturday in about 3 hours including two trips to Home Depot. Needed 13 bags of 50lb Quickcrete instead of the 9 called for in the directions. Due to being out of town for the week, I waited until the following Friday to install the backboard. This part only took about an hour with the help of a pickup truck and two helpers. This made it easier to have two people hold the backboard in the truck while I installed the hardware from a ladder on the backside of the unit. Overall I have been very pleased with the quality of the unit. Several reviews mentioned the unit shaking excessively. The unit does shake when a ball hits the backboard but I do not find it to be excessive. It is not a brick wall so there will be some movement. I would highly recommend this unit if you a looking for a good quality unit for your driveway and don't want to spend thousands of dollars.

So far really like this goal
I had an old outdoor goal with plastic clear backboard that eventually cracked/broke and so needed to replace it. As a basketball player I was never that satisfied with that old goal because the backboard did not have a "true" feel (too dead) and the rim/pole shook a fair amount but it was good enough to use to teach my kids how to shoot. Now my daughter is now playing high school basketball so wanted something more solid/true so she could get shooting practice on regular basis with a "true" rim/backboard feel so I was interested in getting a "glass' backboard goal. For outdoor goals there are only handful of choices with glass backboard and for the "big" name you would be spending close to $1000 which was more than I wanted to spend. Saw this option at sporting goods store for much less %60 and checked online reviews and most folks were satisfied so purchased online through Amazon and got delivered fairly quickly (~1 wk). Sat in garage for several weeks until I had time to install; one thing I hadn't paid attention to was model I bought had pole being embedded in concrete; other model that I saw in store had bracket embedded in concrete that poled would then bolt to. Once I installed pole in concrete (~3hr task) and then waited couple days for concrete to cure. Assembled rest of goal in one evening (~ 2hr) and found directions and parts identification pretty good (though I admit I am an engineer so being familiar with mechanical drawings made it easier). The major item with final assembly is having enough strong people/ladders/chais to hold heavy glass backboard ~8ft off ground until can attach it to frame. Myself, my wife and teenage daughter and son just got it done. I would suggest two strong men/women holding it and the 3rd to guide/attach should do the trick. Rest of assembly was not so bad. Played first game that night and was impressed with solidness of backboard and "true" feel to rim. Have been playing/shooting on it now for a couple weeks and still satisfied/impressed. I am interested to see how it holds up over time to weather here in North Carolina.

Pole is impossible to slam together!
I don't normally write reviews, but I thought this should be a warning for those who are interested in this system. At this point, I'm giving it a 1-star rating as I am on my 3rd day of trying to mate the poles together. This is downright impossible to get to the 6-inch line. Over the last 2 days, I have shredded 3 or 4 plywood slats. No way the video is accurate. I have "slammed" the bottom of the pole at least 60 times. Not budging past the 5 inch mark. I've had help from neighbors as well. We're all perplexed. Called customer service and they suggested spraying WD-40 within the seams and letting it sit 24 hours. Sprayed last night, so we'll see how things go tonight. But at this point, this pole is the hardest and has been the most time-consuming part of this process. I will update this review once (*if*) I get this pole together and put the system together.

Very Good For My Family
We have had this system for close to a month now and it has been as good as advertised. It is well built and the instructions for install are very straight-forward and easy to follow. Like others, I was not able to get the two pieces of the base to slide completely together, but it seems to still work perfectly. We seen little to no vibration/shake and the rim is very good. We enjoy the lift/lower mechanism it is smooth and easy for my kids to use. I was able to put the entire system up by myself, save the back board. With the help of two friends we had it mounted in less than 10 minutes. One thing I wish this system came with was a sleeve system for the base on installation. This would not be a deal braker for me, but I can see why a sleeve would be easier on the overall installation of this system. I would also recommend doing your best to slide the two base pieces together prior to cementing in place as there is significant force that needs to be applied to get those two pieces to move together. We feel confident that this is a solid system and will hold up for a long time, especially in the Arizona sun. We're excited for hours and hours of play time with family and friends.

Players hoop for sure!
This is definitely a players hoop, i have nothing but good things to say about this basketball net. Great basketball hoop. Would recommend to anyone. Don't believe the people who say it shakes too much, they either installed it wrong or they consitantly throw up bricks. Mine is sturdy and hardly moves at all. It also gives off a really true and solid rebound. Easy to install. However make sure you have some friends to help with the backboard, 3 people min. I had 2 buddies myself and my wife and it was quite the upper body workout. Instructions are clear as well. For the money this is a no brainer for someone who is looking for a great net. Have had nothing but compliments about it from friends who have come over to play or neighbors walking by.

Awesome net. Noticed other posts say its not long enough. Probably because he put it to far in the ground. Mine looks and performs great. can actually go higher than 10 feet if you wanted it to
